If Nintendo can be worth forty somthing billion; Valve could be worth twenty billion, easy.

Like I said, we have no data on how much money Valve really makes, so it's tough to say. Nintendo on the other hand has enormous, still untapped, potential when it comes to leveraging their IPs to make money. They have just started getting their toes wet in the mobile market, once they dive in for full, and the money from the super succesfull Switch starts flowing in for completely, not to mention that they're about to start a subscriber based online service, they'll be making billions (plural) a year in profit. It's tough to say how Valve stacks up compared to that, because Valve is so tight lipped with their financials.

Valve too has great, untapped potential.
Imagine how much money they could be pulling in if they really pushed for it.

Though you are right, we do not know Valve's financial status.

Around the Network

Yeah...he always reminded me of Mr. Creosote:

He won't release HL3 because if it is less then stellar the damage to the steam brand will be greater that any potential profit

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

This might be a joke post but I'm not sure if there's much that could possibly do much damage to the Steam brand by now. Paid mods didn't do it. Steam Greenlight didn't do it. Not making HL3 didn't do it. Valve not making games anymore didn't do it. Nothing will.
