Famitsu gave SMO a score thats almost perfect, and they released the score before the embargo?!?!?

Some shady business between them and Nintendo must be at works.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

When does the review embargo officially end?

It will likely be either a week before the release date or a few days.

So, this weekend, then? Seems good.

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

Has Famitsu ever awarded a game a score lower than 4?

I'm sure Mario Odyssey is great, but I have zero faith in Famitsu's journalistic integrity or its standards of excellence.

No it's just different time zones. They are a head of us, so the embargo has already lifted for them.

Ah dang, so close. But as far as I know only New Super Mario Bros Wii got a 40.
Super Mario 64 gor 39 as well.

I don't know about integrity, but it's a different culture. Standards of excellence may vary between our Western culture and their, hence why games we would have never awarded a perfect score are praised by Famitsu, and vice versa.

It is all a matter of what pleases Japanese, in the end.

So what you mean is that the world is the one that is actually conspiring against us?

He's poking fun at the Edge thread where a few people where saying some deal was in place to get a review copy early for a perfect scores here Famitsu have an early copy as well but didn't give a perfect score, the embargo is still in place but doesn't apply to magazines (they never do) and such which just release on their scheduled time.

Pro Golfer Saru (Wii, Bandai Namco): 3 / 3 / 3 / 3 – (12/40)

Also they don't review any crap game, there is usually a preselection. Why waste time and money with reviewing bad games?

I never trust Famitsu scores, good or bad. So, zero value.
