Amazon sales for it are abit depressing (US charts), 2days and its out of the top100.
It depends on how well it does in europe I guess.

With X1 being weaker in Europe and GTS coming around it may do bad even over there.

you really hope that right?

Have yearly FIfa (and other sports games), CoD, AC dropped the sales of each edition to 40% of what they were 10 years ago?

FM5 sold better than 6 and at a much much smaller userbase, we already know the sales correlation to userbase is nowhere linear.

CoD sales are far lower than they were a decade ago, yes.  AC had to take a year off, because they could read the writing on the wall.  FIFA - well, it certainly has not lost any steam that I'm aware of.

I agree, obviously, that the sales to userbase correlation is not 1:1.  But, it is a *fact* that a game's sales are limited by the install base of the console on which it appears.  So, there is a connection.

I'll offer this as well, as an occasional Forza player - the game is just the same thing over and over again.  I don't want to play it often enough to buy a new version every two years, expecially with Horizon in the intervening years.  I certainly don't want to buy it anywhere near the launch window, when the price is high.  I own Horizon 1 and 2, and Motorsport 5 and 6.  I think I may have one of the earlier Motorsports that I've forgotten about as well.  But, I've gotten half of them for free with XBL, and purchased the other 2 for less than $20 each, well after launch.

I also own a PS4.  In contrast to Forza, I'm a bit interested in picking up GT in the nearish future.  I won't likely buy it while it is $60.  But, I may get it in 6 months or so, at $35-$40.  There is no way that I'd pay $40 for a Forza game, unless it had some very major changes from the previous one. That's not because I like GT more than Forza.  In fact, I'd say I've had more fun with Forza games than I have with GT.  Its because I haven't burned out on continuous GT releases.

I'm certainly not the only person in this boat.

Lower to half the previous number? AC took a break because of the bug ridden games not saturation.

Yes games are limited to the userbase size, but when a game sells 2M on a 30M userbase you can't fault the userbase (even more when FM5 done more than FM6 on a lot smaller userbase).

There are probably several reasons for Forza dropping sales but certainly we will all hear that Forza is the king of simulators because critics give it better grades than GT due to paintjobs and other cosmetic stuff.

That X1 is weaker than PS4 in Europe and that GTS coming will take the spotlight from Forza?

Don't need to hope for it to happen.

And when will you give any constructive discussion on this forum?

The XB1 install base is much smaller than the 360's was at the time those "peak" Forza Motorsport games released. Also, Forza Horizon is probably stealing a bit of the sales, and the two year upgrade cycle is limiting anyone's ability to get excited about the new games. So, none of this surprises me.

I'd like them, at least for the next cycle, to go three years between launches of both FM and FH. They could do some kind of 1-off motorcycle racer, or maybe some kind of future racer to fill in the dead year.

Well when FM5 launched it was pretty much the only good racing game on the X1 by the time FM6 launched there where a lot of other good racing games on the X1.

At least we got pass the userbase excuse. So FM6 and FM7 low sales can be explained by their own merits, deficits and etc instead of userbase... thanks.

Well make your thread on why X1X is all you say it is and will as much as you say and give the reasons for it. Several people have requested you to explain and you just run away when that is done.

Plus a lot more people like Horizon better then Motorsports now.  That being FM6 is a huge improvement over FM5 and FM7 is a slight improvement over FM6.

Showing that in the case of Xbox at least racing simulation isn't the biggest interest.

If they don't bundle 7 I don't think it will hit 2m on xbox alone, even with it being a showcase title, in part because from everything I've seen so far, fm6 was a better polished title.

The minor improvements since fm6 are being overshadowed by the cutbacks they made to showcase 4k60 for xbox one x, and the game has suffered as a result of it.

The game doesn't have any cutbacks overall its a improvement over 6 and I haven't even tried the multiplayer yet.
