curl, i know you're a nintendo fan, but c'mon. we all know the switch isn't even close to being compearadable to the wii u. 

you just can't compeared the two

comparing them on the other hand ... well the Switch beats the Wii U out, easily ...

but that's moving goal posts! : p 



People make their voices loud enough to fund the Wii U version of the first game and devs just laughed and showed the middle finger to the Nintendo supporters.

Yeah.  The idea it is weaker than Wii U is demonstrably false.  FAST Racing NEO is among the most technically advanced games on Wii U.  

On Switch, FAST RMX - an enhanced expanded follow up - runs at 1080p in most cases and dips to 900p occassionally.  That's a 320 - 450% increase in resolution over the Wii U's actual resolution of 640x720 which was temporally reconstructed to a final 1280x720 render.  It also features improved and added effects, a far superior lighting solution, and enhanced performance.  It also performs at 60fps in 3 and 4 player splitscreen, which the Wii U had to drop to 30fps because it was having troubles hitting 60fps consistently in just 2 player splitscreen.  

And in handheld it hits the full 1280x720 at all times with all visuals otherwise identical and even runs two player splitscreen at a rock solid 60fps.  

And whatever people may think of certain aesthetic choices, Xenoblade 2 is already showing numerous technical improvements over XCX, which was squeezing the Wii U for all it was worth.  

You can't just look at FLOPS.  You have to look at real world performance output.  The fact is, in practice the Switch is a noteworthy step up.

Your earlier post was correct; Switch is slightly more powerful than PS3/360/Wii U when portable, and significantly more so when docked.

You are totally corrent on that architecture comment. Wii U was a VLIW 5 architecture, meaning each physcial gpu thread had access to 5 lanes of SIMD, but due to the type of data processed, 1 lane is consideraly underused, so the WiiU was even more underpowered than the specs tell you. XB1 & PS4 got away from that old architecture GCN( RISC SIMD).

Pretty much, add to all that the fact that FAST Racing Neo was a late-gen Wii U game, arriving towards the end of the system's life once Shin'en had two prior game's worth of experience with the hardware, while FAST RMX is a launch title, their first game for the hardware, and not even built from the ground up for Switch. Shin'en's future Switch games should look even better.

Plenty of other examples too; Mario Odyssey butt-stomps 3D World graphically, heck, even Splatoon 2, which was never a graphically oriented series, shows noticeable improvement from the Wii U original to its Switch sequel.
