In layman's terms, the Tegra X1 in the Switch is around 2-3 times more capable than the Wii U's Latte GPU, while the Switch has 3GB of RAM available to games compared with 1GB on Wii U.

As a point of comparison, let's look at FAST Racing Neo, one of the most technically advanced games on both Wii U and Switch. On Wii U it uses a reconstructed 720p resolution where some elements are rendered at half-res, or just 640x720. On Switch it runs at 900p-1080p with no reconstruction, a very substantial increase in pixel throughput. Then on top of that it has a more stable 60fps on Switch and improved lighting effects as well.

So it isn't nearly as close to X1 as people here pretended before?

If by X1 you mean Xbox One, I haven't actually seen many people claiming Switch is close to Xbox One in power.

The performance gap between Switch and PS4/Xbone is similar to that of Vita vs PS3/360.

Then you are a luck guy... we have had so many people thinking it was almost there on Xbox One level in this forum.

I remember one or two of those back in late 2016/early 2017, when some enthusiastic fans held out hope it was using a Tegra X2, similar to how one or two Playstation fans held out hope that PS4 Pro would run AAA games in real 4K, but in both cases I remember them being outliers.

Since I have my old GT racing wheel only compatible on PS3 and PC, I'll get any racing game on PC. And I believe Namco mentioned that they'll skip WiiU for the next Nintendo console, and now they are asking again? they can piss off tbh.

Well at that time there were even crazy people calling Switch to be about PS4 or close...

But even nowadays there are some crazy that still think Switch is more powerfull than it really is because of Nintendo prowess in put pretty content.

It's been months since I've seen anyone hyping Switch up as more powerful than it really is; after all, it's been out for more than 7 months, and the specs have been known for even longer.

The 3 important things to know.

Switch can output very good visuals on Nintendo hands.

It have potential to do a lot of Multiplats.

Some very demanding MPs or some genres that fanbase isn't interested probably won't get a port.

Nah... after the stunt they pulled i can only hope they crash and burn. I refuse to buy their games, no matter the system.

Pretty much. FIFA actually seems to be a decent measuring stick of the platform's power; notably better than PS3/360, but still notably behind PS4/Xbone.
