With a new model of the Pro and the PSVR announced, I would also assume new models for the stardard PS4 are also there too. I reckon Sony are just clearing the stock in preparation for the new models. If they release them now, people will opt for the new versions, leaving Sony with the problem of having to lower the price of the older versions to shift them, and MS has shown why that doesn't work out well in the long run.

Yeah that makes perfect sense, especially as we've seen this type of behaviour before. Cheaper to make hardware just in time for Xmas, new Bundle... yeah makes sense.

Nobody is calling for a price drop. The reason I initially asked if anyone has suggested Sony drop the price is because it used to be a regular occurrence in the Amazon threads if they fell behind for a while. The ironic thing, and what we're discussing, is the probable price drop because of all the new model announcements and the coming Christmas battle. Now is the time. Before it was just jumpy Sony fans.

Yeah, but Zelda had a whole month. Mario will only have two days, I'll be cautious and say 500k.
