Infinite is one of my fav games...

I think Infinite is a good game. But Bioshock 1 is better.

Also plasmids makes more sense in the world of Bioshock 1 than vigors do in Infinite. In Bioshock 1 plasmids are a part of the reason Rapture collapsed in Infinite it's more "hey, we need to implement this mechanic from the previous game into this game, somehow" and thus vigors have no point or real place in the world Columbia. Also I prefer the aestetcs of Rapture over Columbia.

OT: Yeah I actually never played Bioshock 2, but as stated above I liked both 1 and Infinite. Maybe I should give it a spin some time.

Both Bioshock 1 and Infinite are among my all time favourite games. The Plasmids did fit the narrative better in the first one, though for me this was balanced out by Elizabeth and Booker giving the latter's story more of a human touch.

If you liked the first Bioshock though, 2 is definitely worth a shot, I highly recommend it. Just don't expect the same level of mind-fuckery as the other two.

Infinite was a good game that could have been great. Its biggest problem was that it did not have access to unlimited resources. It feel like the game was only half of what Levine wanted it to be.

I wasn't a big fan of Infinite, the story telling was exceptional for video games but it wasn't a well paced game and the end battle was crap.

Regardless, Bioshock 1 is a fantastic game and I even played through it a second time about a year ago. Its not a very long game and I recommend it.

On topic, Bioshock 2 is a really good game. Not significantly different from the original game though.

The storytelling was exceptional for video games? Was it, really?

I mean, I don't play many story games so I guess i'm genuinely asking sort of but ... didn't seem all that great. I feel like other games have done more with less.

Regardless, the combat, AI, and Elizabeth were what made the game awful

Well I feel it had interesting characters, I was paying attention to the story more than I do most games, and its actually been pretty memorable.

So yeah, if the game did anything right it was creating an effective story and setting even if the gameplay was average. I'm going to eventually replay that game and its not because of the gameplay.

Fair enough. I definitely feel like The Last of Us was in a lot of ways what Infinite should have been, even if i'm not a big Uncharted guy. Of course they're different games but they have a lot of similarities when you think about it.

I actually don't care that much for stories in videogames (why is a whole different thread), so I'll just use a quote from John Carmack (somewhere around original Doom/Quake era) that I think is fitting: "Stories in video games are just like stories in porn movies, you expect them to be there but you really don't pay attention to it".

What makes it for me is atmosphere. For me 1 has a much better atmosphere than Infinite. Of course this is all very subjective.

Fair enough, to each their own. I think both have a great atmosphere in their own way, the first in its ominous mystery and horror, Infinite in its vibrant steampunk exterior that serves as a mask for the city's rotten heart.

I just remember one Bioshock game and i hated it.

Finding salt and fighting fake freemasons. Still hate it when i remember it. No Thx. Never again. Dishonored too. Spawning rats. Was so hyped. And than? They didnt use the potentiall of dishonored. Hate it too.

I absolutely adored Bioshock 1 and 2.
And I absolutely hated Bioshock 3/Infinite.

I hope not, it's the one I didn't play and probably never will come around to.
