Both Bioshock 1 and Infinite are among my all time favourite games. The Plasmids did fit the narrative better in the first one, though for me this was balanced out by Elizabeth and Booker giving the latter's story more of a human touch.
If you liked the first Bioshock though, 2 is definitely worth a shot, I highly recommend it. Just don't expect the same level of mind-fuckery as the other two.
