I'm trying to make my first draft for this year's top 50... man this shit is hard. Managed to cut it down to 60, these last 10 are gonna be pretty tough to cut - and it's crazy to think there's games I ended up not playing this year that I wanted to (well I still might before the final version next month), so the cutting might be even more pronounced. I gotta say I'm pretty happy with how it's evolved over the years, though.

top 60 video games?

look dude ... i don't mean to be rude, but i'm in the process of making a top 35

you can't show me up like that!

It's your first year here, isn't it? And you're 17.

When I joined VGC I was 19, and my first year list was pretty crappy, with games as high as #21 being completely absent from my current stuff, and even some within the top 20 then, now have their top 50 positions threatened. That's just how things go, time passes, you grow up, you play more shit, and you think harder about what really stood out or not - notably, I've gotten into the Metroid franchise since then (I had only played Super back in 2014), which brought loads of titles into the mix, and there's been a lot of games released that I've loved, too - besides older games I only played recently and turned out to be pretty heavy hitters like Okami.

That said, it wasn't all that hard to cut a bit more to a 56... but I really don't know where to go from here. I got a list of 17 games, of which 11 will make it and 6 won't, but those 17 all look like respectable entries and I've no idea which ones to cut.

My problem isn't that I can't explain myself well. I can. I'm a pretty beloved reviewer.

My problem is that I don't want our lists to compete! D : Plus I didn't get back into games till like a few months ago.

Are you including all games you played this year or just new games from 2017?

All games I played ever, of course. That's what the top 50 list is supposed to be (eh, I guess you weren't involved in it yet, so you get a pass for not knowing much). I don't really play too many new games often, but 2017 I think will bring more entries into the list than other years have, I feel it's been a pretty great year for gaming as you already know.

ooooooh

ok, i'm just doing top 30-40ish of the year

you may continue.

Not much, just doing HW. Also downloading stuff. I recently got DQH2 and Metro Last Light, and I almost reached my Data Cap. Which to me is insane since it is 400GB. My PS4 and Laptop isn't much more then that...

It's good that you can drive, I been driving since I was 15, and it changed my life. I no longer was forced to eat school lunch my junior and senior year in HS. I no longer had to eat leftovers at home, and could pick up fast food if I wanted. I could buy video games or anything else since I could drive there. Of course it cost a lot of money, so good thing I got a job at the same time too.

Hey there. Just stopping by to tell you that you're pretty cool in my eyes. Have a nice day.

Hey guys!! I'm feeling down and depressed right now, so I though that I'd make this thread to just talk about random things. How's your day been? Anything new or exciting going on? I actually passed my driving test not too long ago, so today I drove on my own for the first time ever!! What I ended up doing was going to a game store and getting a few games.

Well cheer up.  I didn't start drving until my late 20s.  Also what games did you get.

You are 19 and you just drove your first car by yourself? People in my area start at 15 with no guidance. Then again Canada might have a different culture than us . Now try driving on the expressway when you're ready. It is like everything you did in driving leads up to that.

When I first learned to drive I realized playing a video game about driving gives you NO experience on how to drive in real life. Such a hard lesson to learn for me.

I'm almost 26 and have never drove a car in my life. That's epilepsy for you... in my case at least anyway, lol

Well in most places in Europe you can survive without having a car since most things are within walking distance in most places in the US and Canada everything is so spread out that you pretty much need to have a car to survive.

Sorry I neglected to ask earlier... but what games did you get?

I'm feeling depressed because I cannot watch as much anime as I want anymore. There is so much cool stuff out there every season but it's hard to balance that with gaming and other less important stuff. It really really sucks. So much for money solves problems. Yeah, I'd like to buy 10 additional hours to my day, thanks.
