It's terrible if you ask me, probably on the same level as Wii U, but at least the fact that it's getting 2 "true next-gen games" like Doom 2016 and Wolfenstein II TNC makes it look much better, as if it was truly fulfilling its promise of being a full home console on the go.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

oh yeah? So that's why Watch Dogs runs on 900p with 30FPS on PS4 while Doom manages 1080p most of the time with an average of roughly 50FPS. Obviously Watch Dogs is more demanding. |
You should also take the developer into consideration. Id software are outright masters in game optimization. Their engine is very scalable from high-end rigs all the way to toasters. If Ubisoft made doom it wouldn't perform nearly as well (don't mean it as a knock at Ubisoft, but still).
Bet with Intrinsic:
The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

The Wii U version runs even worse than the PS3 version despite the Wii U being more powerful. The Wii U version is more so equivalent to a last gen version than a next gen version. Of course, the Switch is more powerful than Wii U docked(though perhaps not by much) and in handheld it has a higher pixel density and smaller resolution in handheld. While it is true that DOOM probably could have ran on the PS3, the Switch version is much more likely to be tailored towards that system since there is no last gen version, meaning it's more technically demanding.
Not only that, but this is a terrible argument especially when 60fps has never been a goal for open world games, or hell even most single player ones. iD games practically *require* 60fps.

Bad code is bad.
My themeforest portfolio:
Wii U multiplatform games usually ran worse than on 360 and PS3, mostly due to the garbage CPU, so there was no reason for most people to buy those games on Wii U.
No, because it's literally only 1 dev supporting it with big games......and those games are extremely scaled down compared to its 3.5 year older competition. The whole "its portable" doesnt mean much to me........especially when you launched 3.5 years later....and is playing a 1080 60 game at 720p 30 fps.
Console is still essentially just a Nintendo and indie machine overall sprinkled with games that been out for a year or more already

I'm pleased with it, don't forget a large chunk of Wii U third party support came within the launch period when people were banking on the Wii name to catapult it to success. Switch third party support is steadily building momentum and is likely to grow even more due to the sales success of the Switch.
I don’t understand the OP. You justify your position that “Wii U started with better 3rd party support” by listing games like Watch Dogs that released 2 years after the system launched. Switch isn’t even 7 months old.
