I think it depends on whether the bidding war ended or not. The massive iphone order will hopefully not be as damaging in the future, so we should probably see Switch production increase at a consistent rate.

12m for the first year seems reasonable. I'm expecting 14-18 for the second - maybe more

A lot of people have been hating on the iPhone X lately though. I think Apple will have their sales slow down quite a bit.

yeah the iphone X is kind of ass. I'm not in the need of a new phone, but in all honesty the Iphone 8+ seems much better.

If I want a full screen phone, I'd rather get an S8/+ which is much cheaper

"We actually sold through almost 2.8 million units, so we dramatically over delivered. And yet, demand outpaces supply," he said. "So what do some of the consumers on Reddit say? 'Gosh, Nintendo, if you would've made more you would've sold more.' Well, we did make more! And certainly we're on a pace to supply in the current fiscal year 10 million units."

Wait, I thought they ramped up their fiscal production goal from 10m to 18m, have the gone back to 10m now? If so that really sucks.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. has not (yet) issued an official change of foreca in shipments. This means that Reggie (a glorified PR guy) cannot say anything other than this 10 million figure.

Besides, why should the announcement for this change of forecast come from Reggie when it (change of forecast) normally comes in the form of a Investor Relations release?

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'm sort of confused as well - you aren't alone.

If they're sticking to 10-12m this year, then chances are 18m is what they hoped to produce. Apple's bidding war however made it difficult, so hopefully cheaper prices will allow Nintendo to produce 18m

That was only a rumor right? that nintendo *might* try to aim for 18m.

Offically I think its always been 10m.

I guess how many more than 10m they can do depends on what price they can get components for.

Apple might be makeing that difficult.

Wonder what numbers look like March 2018?

Switch ~13-14m? (depending on how many more than 10m they can do)

PS4 ~76-80m?

xb1 ~ 37m?

Aleolus, why did you need to take this "humorous" thread so seriously :/

I didn't but I also didn't take it lightly as possible either. I was trying to point out this was a really bad joke and why. The op has made a thread about jokes before and made comments about jokes in other threads, that made me question this "joke" because of the way it was done.

Stock seems to finally get better

Took only about 5 months, but it will be just as bad once the holiday hits

I wish Reggie would just retire. I'm sick of him.

Its dumb how people dont understand how buiness work and just assume Nintendo can make as many devices as they like and not knowing the ins and outs. Do gamers actually think Nintendo make less consoles on purpose? A company which strives on profits to suffocate there own buisness for laughs?

Sure there might be part shortages for certain components for the Switch but one can't make the same case for releases such as the NES and SNES classic.  There are countless people like oh Nintendo can't make that many fucking NES and SNES classic editions because you know it is so fucking hard to get contract manufacturers to make the damn systems.

Finally Nintendo gave a less bullshit excuse saying they did the NES classic edition run based on previous retro consoles systems sold such as Sega and Atari.  Guess what people care more about Nintendo than fucking Atari or Sega.  They should have known there was going to be greater demand and they are finally acting like a proper buisness and not like oh that was a limited release if you didn't get one well then fuck you because we don't care.
