| Cerebralbore101 said: I'm exhausted. I work 2pm-10pm two days a week, and then have to work 6am-2pm two other days a week. In order to get to work on time I have to rike a bike for 40 minutes. This means I have to get up at 4:40am two days a week, but can't go to sleep until 10:40pm when I get off work. Six hours of sleep is not enough. I've been getting in shape going to the gym, and making a lot of progress these past six months, but my gains are being killed by my work schedule. Every monday I have to struggle to get up at 7am because my body is thrown for such a loop by my wonky work schedule, that I just want to sleep in all day. If I don't get up at 7, I wind up sleeping half the day away. I have a portfolio to work on, and I need to keep my skills up to date. I have a game backlog that grows every month. I only work 4 days a week, but between my commute, portfolio work, and exercise I wind up putting in 56 hours a week. |
I work tuesday through friday from 10-4 and wednesday from 10-6. I also have another job where I work 4:30 to midnight 5 days a week, and on weekends dont get home til about 2. I work about 70+ hours a week, go to the gym 5 times a week either after midnight or on my nights off.
You want the gains you gotta work for them.
Also I have 2+ coffees a day, eat whatever I want, like pizza, chinese food, and whey supplements. I am a power lifter. The gains are great. I'd say, in terms of your energy, 6 hours is rough, but think about sneaking in naps....and pre-workout definitely helps a LOT.
Don't worry so much about milks or gluten. It's really not that major of a factor. You need caffeine. You need something to boost you. You can't just assume that a good diet of slow carbs and proteins and staple foods is going to make you feel great.
