I'm just impressed it's running in the first place, and to me personally at least the downgrade seems pretty good, it's a lot better looking than some 360/PS3 games on Wii.

Well, the gap between PS4/Xbone and Switch is much smaller than the gap between PS360 and Wii.

Like I said. Reduction to resolution which results in a soft image and a downgrade in texturing.
It's like someone smeared vaseline over the screen. :P

There are people who don't care though, and without a 24/7 constant comparison while playing, most will be too focused on gameplay to be thinking about the visual difference. Also playing where ever on a handheld is more than a good trade off to a lot of people. I agree.
Switch owners probably don't care they are getting a graphically compromised version.

Even if I'll never play it portably, I'd buy it just to play Doom without having to buy a PS4/Xbone/Gaming PC.

I know your wording makes it a hypothetical, but you don't have those platforms? Cray cray. Gaming PC's are just as much value per dollar as Switch imo.

No, I don't own any of them. PC Gaming isn't really my cup of tea, I prefer the plug-in-and-play convenience of consoles.

Honestly I always thought you were a PC gamer with a few consoles to supplement your PC gaming.

He only does Age of Empires on PC, curl was always a frank Nintendo fan even in his longest moments of disappointment and his ownership of WII U is the ultimate proof of that ...

There's a lot of games on PS4 that could be easily ported over to Switch. Persona 5, Ys VIII, Odin Sphere, Dragon Quest Builders, Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwimi. Switch isn't as powerful as the two main consoles, but it isn't a 360 or a PS3 either. There's a big difference between nearly no ram on PS3/360, and the 4GB ram on Switch.

That's the point I made previously and why we should be thankful to Capcom. They pushed Nintendo to go from 2GB Switch memory to 4GB stating they needed it to port many of their games

This isn't the first time I've seen you say this. Do you have any source for this?

He has his ways. You could almost say he has a knack for it.
