PS1 Horror Hack 'Em Up Nightmare Creatures Is Being Rebooted

A new nightmare

Here’s a blast from the past, PlayStation One and Nintendo 64 horror combat game Nightmare Creatures is being rebooted and brought to consoles and PC, almost twenty years since the original release. Back then the game was created by Kalisto Entertainment but it’s Albino Moose games who are developing the new version, and here’s the teaser:

Nightmare Creatures 2017 Announcement

In 1666, a cult made up of the world’s most influential players created an elixir that would grant them vast unholy powers – but something went terribly wrong, and their experiments yielded only bloodthirsty, mutant horrors. As the cult is decimated from the inside by betrayal and the creatures escape into London, a traveling priest and the daughter of a murdered immunlogist fight their way to the center of the city and defeat the evil once and for all… or so they believe.

If you missed the original game twenty years ago, here’s a look at the PS1 version.

I loved this game! Still have the original.

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

PSN: StlUzumaki23

It was a great game during that gen thanks to the limitations of the consoles in the same way that silent Hill was great, you barely could see more than 5 meters in front of you so the monsters would pop out of the mist...

I though it was pretty decent. Nightmare Creatures 2 is still very well regarded.

I think this is going to be the most commonly asked question of the year. "Is it coming to Switch" is the new "are we there yet".

Would like to see the gameplay. It was Dark Souls esq before Dark Souls existed. Have my copy somewhere, need to get my hands on number 2 though.

Hmm, pie.

Please change the title. It wasn't exclusive to PS1. It also was released on PC and N64.
