Die Hard for the Nintendo 64, an interesting game that was never released:

Those hands, oh god!

I used to know a former texture artist working for a studio under THQ. According to him the number of unfinished games outnumbers games that go gold by at least three to one. There's mountains of prototype game out there that never see the light of day.

I'd rather see games that are too rare to be affordable get emulated. In other words I'd like a way to play Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining Force III, etc. Without having to shell out hundreds of dollars. Good Saturn games are really expensive.

I think it'd be even higher than 3:1, depending how early into the development/planning stage you want to get.

Yeah, depending on what you go by, it can get higher than that. Most developers would get a good laugh at people saving their unfinished work. I'm sure there's a few diamonds in the rough though. Games that really should have been released, and are a delight to play.

P.S. What about Saturn emulators?

To my knowledge, Saturn emulation is much more limited, because it was only very recently when the Saturn was even cracked. In any case, here's a beta version of Fighting Force, which ended up being released on the PS1 instead:

Saturn games I want emulated...

Panzer Dragoon Saga
Radiant Silvergun
Guardian Heroes
Shining Force III
Dragon Force
Assault Suit Leynos 2

If you want to play these on a Saturn you're looking at $600 minimum on the discs. Then you'll need a Saturn that'll play import games.

Another game that desperately needs to be emulated or re-released is Suikoden II for the PS1.

Here's another interesting title, X-Men: Mind Games for the Sega 32X. It never ended up being released, but it does seem like it was trying to take advantage of the 32X's capabilities.

Oh good. I have the disc version, but it was getting expensive. Around $100 still.
