I wonder if this was cross over game, what would it be.

"I don't like what yous said, this is a stupid post" sounds like one of those fucked up attitudes you mentioned earlier. Your first conuter point makes no sense. MvC is a crossover project. It's designed to be a cross over - the entire game is build around it, using the characters and their settings to create a story and game. It's built to be it's own thing and has nothing to do with the respective series they draw from. The same goes for any crossover built this way. As for other series and totally random crossovers, either the series it's happening in is built solidly and delivers a clear message that the franchise is in good hands(MonHun, One Piece) or fans could and should be asking the same questions about their series that many people in this thread have brought up. When it comes to "it's free DLC", my point is that SE even bothered with this instead of fixing the problems many fans of the game have with the main game. "It's just free and throwaway" - then why does it exist at all? I got to C... by getting there? Is that your response? Good straw man attempt though - can't argue the points, attack the person making the points. |
That's the point I was making with B and C; there was no points. Hell, there is not even a real point to your A, but at least it had some substance. Ultimately you were the only thing left! Ironic you bring up a strawman argument.
What does it matter if the game is built around it or adds it as event? A crossover is crossover and its gonna treated the same way. Its for fans of each of the eproperties to enjoy. If you dont like Marvel or CAPCOM then you probably dont give shits about Infinite. Just like if you could give a damn about Assassins Creed then this DLC means nothing to you. Hell I dont give a shit about Assassin Creed, but what about people who do? I probably wont even bother with it but SE aren't wrong/confused/lost because they're partnering with a another popular IP for a event that I dont have to bother with.
I wanna look at your ridiculous DLC claim. I know you dont really feel this way. If we have a FF15 fan that plated FF15 months ago, sees this DLC as also an Assassin Creed fan or just somebody who thought it looked interesting, decides to turn on the game again, hasnt the DLC done its job? Hasn't the DLC justified its own existence? When Street Fighter V or Tekken 7 or Dead or Alive add "free throwaway" costumes packs, What justify their existence? That people DLed and enjoyed them, not some whiny FF15 players who didnt get what they wanted out of the games plot or people who cant get over the fact Nomura never got VS past a concept, or its not turnbased.
That is the general attitude of the "We dont like FF15 crowd". Look at your previous paragraph. It amounts to "Its ok other franchises do irrelevant crossover because I like their last games". Who here is decides if FF is safe hands?
FF Type O has nothing but praise.
FF14 is considered to a top tier MMO. Nothing but praise.
FFX and Xll remasters, nothing but praise
FF7R is highly anticipated
Your not the center of the world. No red carpets for you. There are people who like 15 and those that dont. What will decide the direction of the franchise is reception to everything 15 is doing. The we dont like 15 crowd complaints have fallen deaf ears.
AKA your losing.

Let's not get crazy here. Type-0 is horrible, but even if you don't agree, it's not really "nothing but praise". The game was criticised for how incredibly obtuse it is.

I meant Dissidia. Dont know why I always want to call it Type 0. I completely forget about actual Type 0.

Oh, well, I can't personally speak for Dissidia as I haven't played it. It's just that I get horrible flashbacks whenever someone says Type-0, and hearing that it was "praised" triggers my whole body.
silly and pointless. Won't bother playing.

Haha, love the little jab at the end there. Couldn't just be civil, eh? You're so intimidating.
And I fixed your little type-o about Dissida. I understand, you were frothing at the mouth to make this response.
Anyway - I love how we dance around all the atrocities SE have been producing in the series. Not just remakes and spin offs, mainline games. Like Final Fantasy XIII - the one just about everyone hates. The one where where you can't yell people down with entitled arguments like "there's no turn based battles, GET OVER IT", because the story and characters are complete and total shit to near objectivity. And you know, you're right actually. Our voices DID fall on deaf ears! Because they made two more of these awful blights on gaming. Three games where they had no idea what they were doing with, not only Final Fantasy, but this joke of a trilogy that was seemingly storyboarded AFTER they made all the eye-fucking graphics. But back to this trainwreck of a game later.
Then there's Final Fantasy XIV. You know, the original. The bollocks one that everyone hated, the one that Square-Enix has tried to make everyone forget about(to great result if your cherry picking is to be cited).
Then there's Final Fantasy XV - the big 10 year kahuna. The game that took 10 years because - what do you know - SE didn't know what the fuck they were doing with Final Fantasy. The game that turned out to be alright if you like weird Kingdom Hearts battle systems but slowed down for old men. Yet still, even with it being pretty solid, there's a ton of people talking about the issues the game has. And you know what? This happened:
http://time.com/4713709/final-fantasy-xv-update/
So, there's my red carpet. Maybe SE does listen to fans after all? And there are people that can't get over that Final Fantasy isn't turn based anymore - but according to SE:
http://www.siliconera.com/2014/03/31/bravely-defaults-success-west-making-square-enix-rethink-jrpgs/
And apropos if nothing:
http://www.vgchartz.com/game/63395/bravely-default-flying-fairy/
http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=lightning+returns
Bravely Default did better on one console than a Final Fantasy on two. And thank whatever god you like that it did, because we got games like FFXIV Reborn and XV and there's no way you're going to argue those games are better for FFXIII trilogy's existence. No, XIV and XV are the antithesis of XIII because of the all the backlash and trashing that trilogy got. Can you imagine if SE weren't listening? You'd have more Lightning styled characters and Fal'ce bullshit stories.
I think Square-Enix's ears are very much capable of hearing, it's just a matter of if they're letting their art departments run the show or they're actually making an effort. They can make some decent to good games if they try, but as far as Final Fantasy is concerned it's heart and soul left with Sakaguchi. Final Fantasy is purely a product to make mass amounts of money - the integrity of it as art is long gone.
(And before you say it, I'm aware companies exist to make money. But terrorists exist to incite terror, do we give them a free pass because they exist to do it?)
