I didn't get the chance to play Skyrim last gen mainly because I never knew I could play it in third person view lmao (first person kinda makes me sick)

Is this game outdated in 2017? Or it's still epic as 5 years ago?

Same here. I buy a lot of first person games but it really is my least favorite perspective. I never feel like I'm the character (unless it's VR). I just feel like I'm strapped to a gun or something.

I know right?

First person is just for shooters, at least for me

RPG I'm used to play in third person like Dragon Age and etc

By the way, for those bitching that's it's only 720p, the screen itself is 720p.  You won't ever see a game running a higher res in portable mode.

I mean. You aren't wrong. But... You know games can render at a higher resolution than the display right?

I'm not seeing the Switch applying supersampling anytime soon, especially not on handheld mode.

But in theory, yeah, it could be possible

Of course but when resources are limited as they are in a portable device, no developer is going to render higher than screen output.  The anti-aliasing benefit just isn't worth it.

Hence the "you aren't wrong".

1) Very few people were making this claim and they were touted as morons by all of us and they've not been heard from since.

2) The Switch patent actually shows it doign VR.

3-4) What do these have to do with "'member when the NX was supposed to be more powerful than the PS4 + being a portable??"

In fact, far more people were claiming that Skyrim on Switch would not be the remaster edition (we know it is now) than there were people claiming Switch to be more powerful than PS4 and portable.

There was one user who kept claiming the Wii U was more powerful than the Xbox One/Playstation 4 because the eDRAM had more bandwidth.

You can't make this stuff up.

This forum used to be full of allot of crazies a few years back. Haha

I 'member....

This was never a thing though

NX being more powerful than PS4 and being a portable hybrid (2-in-1) were distinct rumours/speculations. 1tflop was what some people were unrealistically pushing for the portable hybrid, not it being more powerful PS4.

Nope.

If you go back before the NX was even rumored to be a "Hybrid". There were all sorts of rumors on what the hardware might be.

There was also a reddit user last year who claimed it was more powerful than the Playstation 4 as well... Many users in these forums fapped at the possibility. Haha

I enjoy a good debate. And I enjoyed debating with those hilarious performance claims that many on these forums legitimately believed.

Yeah some further customisation to make the game maybe fit this mode of playing better, may have been a great idea. Maybe that was too big of a change that also required too much money to implement =p third person it is!

Please put more info in the OP...
So is it a competent port of the game? Hope so and that Nintendo players enjoy the game.

Always think it's quite funny that I never saw a 1st person game perspective that feels like I'm placed at the eye position. Never seeing things we would normally see when moving around and even less when moving our head.

Unfortunately there's not a whole lot to say yet as DF were not able to capture direct feed footage nor test the docked mode.

Some docked footage has since emerged however, and has its own thread here: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=231231&page=1#

thanks curl, but from other people comments seems like it was quite competent port.

So far it seems to, yes; performance is reportedly rock solid, portable mode runs at the Switch screen's native resolution, and just going by what I can see in youtube footage, some of the graphical extras of the special edition have been included. So yeah so far it seems a competent port. Of course there's always the possibility that once it comes out, the final version falls apart under close inspection, but so far, so good.

Final version on PS3 and even X360 was very bad on performance, so I wouldn't put the blame on Switch for this game.
