How is that in any way a controversial opinion? That's basically fact.

I don't think I've ever said that without the emulator fans impaling me with flaming death.

Probably because you're wrong. Emulators are not illegal.

You do realize that Nintendo has won three generations to Sony's two (soon to be three), right? It's a tie game. If you want to throw in handhelds, it's a landslide. It's not nearly as onesided as you think.

And you do realise that Nintendo's wins came before Sony came into the business, right? The only win Nintendo had since then was with the Wii which a lot would consider a Pyrrhic victory given the route Nintendo went down. As for handhelds, there's a reason why Sony won the 5th and 6th generation (and likely 8th generation) without having handhelds or with their handheld failing - handhelds are simply not that important.

Maybe handleds aren't that important. Or maybe you just want them to be unimportant to try an shoehorn your opinion in. Either way, like I said, it's a tie game for dominance in home consoles. In handhelds (you know, the totally unimportant industry), it's a wash.

I was just stating facts. I get tired of seeing people use their bias to form opinion. You like Sony. Fine. But you can't make history change from what it is to suit your feelings. Nintendo has been just as dominant as Sony up to this point.

Interesting that you say that when Sony games win more GOTY awards than Nintendo games.

My opinion: Nintendo fans hate FFVII because FFVII jumping from Nintendo to Sony symbolises the demise of Nintendo from being the leader in the video games market to being relegated to a side player to PlayStation.

Since playstation came around they've sold 335 million home consoles in those 3 generations that have completed (I rounded down)

Nintendo has sold 155 million consoles in those 3 gens.  If we wanna throw in WiiU vs PS4 that's fine but the ratio may end up being the most lopsided yet unless we combine WiiU and Switch numbers against PS4.  So you kinda have to throw in handhelds.  And considering how vastly different that market is and that Sony wasn't in the handheld market until basically PS3 gen that would just be flubbing the numbers.

You can't compare numbers outright due to the industry's growth. Marketshare is the only way.

Sony fans are bitter that Sony's first party studios can't match the quality of Nintendo, so they make up ridiculous conspiracy theories about all reviewers being biased and blinded with nostalgia in an attempt to feel superior.

That's not a gaming opinion. That's a crappy generalizatiion. But since Nintendo fans are stupid babies, I can't be too offended. Plus, it's tough to get worked up over anything since all my energy is sapped due to the stress that comes from overwhelming bitterness.

Really? Who's the one acting bitter over an opinion? Especially when they're doing response posts like this?

God forbide someone doesn't like nintendo and doesn't think all of it's games are game of the decade.

You're forgetting the point of a thread like this. It's supposed to be fun and light hearted even if there's things said that you might disagree with. Don't take everything as an affront to you.

they were competing at the same time in the gens I mentioned so the industry was the same size for both

but even taking into account your objection.  Sony wins in a landslide in percentages of marketshare in the gens where they directly competed as well.  PS2 selling over 3x as much as Xbox and Gamecube combined alone makes that a landslide.  PS3 didn't even lose that badly to Wii in the end and that's the gen Nintendo won.

Things in this thread are going south. Quick.

I insist that we keep the thread on-topic and civil, please and thank you.

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.
