Since playstation came around they've sold 335 million home consoles in those 3 generations that have completed (I rounded down)

Nintendo has sold 155 million consoles in those 3 gens.  If we wanna throw in WiiU vs PS4 that's fine but the ratio may end up being the most lopsided yet unless we combine WiiU and Switch numbers against PS4.  So you kinda have to throw in handhelds.  And considering how vastly different that market is and that Sony wasn't in the handheld market until basically PS3 gen that would just be flubbing the numbers.

You can't compare numbers outright due to the industry's growth. Marketshare is the only way.

they were competing at the same time in the gens I mentioned so the industry was the same size for both

but even taking into account your objection.  Sony wins in a landslide in percentages of marketshare in the gens where they directly competed as well.  PS2 selling over 3x as much as Xbox and Gamecube combined alone makes that a landslide.  PS3 didn't even lose that badly to Wii in the end and that's the gen Nintendo won.
