Ok im gonna give this my best shoot since im not normally good with words.

 Console X

Graphics: A minor update from Wii graphics, maybe 2x the power of the Wii. They would have to use the power to the max of its portential. Much like Zelda with "artish". I believe with the way that the Wii is currently selling graphics will not be focus'd on for this next gen, rather gameplay and innovation.

Size: If possable keep it to the size of the Wii, max 2 times the Wii. Thats just to keep the causal audience interested and not scared of where the hell they were gonna put this like ps3.

THE CONTROLLER: Ok this is the part that will make it sell. This would be hard, but once worked out become huge. Simply a wrist band on each hand, With a one button that goes straight into your palm. The wrist bands have motion sensitive in them.  This Would allow for a game like Wii sports for a openner. One final thing would to be have a mat to stand on say 8 sqaures, and one to stand on it the middle of the board.

The games: Well the most obvious one would be boxing, explain's it'self having to bands around for wrist could make it intense with good programing. So basicly a Wii sports all over again.

If a game like Zelda was made it would be easy enough to have the ground pad for the movement. Shield left wrist band, swinging the sword right (or oppersites for if your left handed). Buttons in your hands used for picking up items.

Final Word: This could be enjoyed by all ages expect maybe over the age of 50(depending on the body build), Other than that this could really add spice to your games. Pad on the floor would stop too much jumping around. Wrist band means theres no chance of it slipping out of your hand or strap breaking(not taking a shot at The Wii), There is no limit to what you can do with this if it was a console.

all the wii needs right now is a bump in graphics to 720p---after all the only way to get past 720 is with hd dvd formats

all hd tv is broadcast in 720 (found this out when i went to get my 1080p tv)

That console would destroy any new expensive Playstation or Microsoft console introduced to the market. Nintendo name sells in video games and that console would be relatively cheaper than its rivals.

Change the button to a pressure sensitive analog stick and it could work ;)

You just described what will most likely be the next Wii. The problem with the description, is you are focusing to much on size and controls, and less on games.

Plus, what you have done (and I don't think has ever been done before), is release a console with less power then the previous generation (less power then the PS3 and 360). Not sure that would sell well.

No one would want to be forced to stand to play every single game. Sometime you just want to sit back and relax.

@Op well you better go out and get a Nintendo Wii. You would have a ball. They are cool by what I have been told lots of fun games and you can burn up a sweat with playing the Wii, lol.

My mate as a Wii, its interested me for about a week. Then i just lost interest. I will wait for them to get the controls down to a "T".

Meh, i dunno, having just one button would hard work in something like an FPS, you would also have to have some way to do stuff like crouching etc, if you had some sort of expansion slot on the controllers, where you could but a gun (with a few extra buttons) or a lightsaber and stuff like that
