Forums - Nintendo - Square Enix just hinted at something FFXV related coming to the Switch

I could see a port coming to the Switch, albeit a rather muddy-looking version with the effects dialed down quite a bit. It would be cool to get Final Fantasy games on my Switch, but not this one, I just couldn't get into the story or the combat, and have found myself much more satisfied with the FF 12 remaster.

It's the pocket edition...

I would prefer FF7 remake.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I wouldn't write off the the full FFXV coming to Switch.

Unreal Engine 4 - what FFXV was built with - is scalable, so downgrades should be simple. When you take away a lot of the additional graphical details - you would still have a very pretty game - especially if it stays in the league of BotW/Xenoblade2/Skyrim switch.

FFXV is a game meant to please the Japanese audience and Switch has obviously captured that market.

As Nintendo, you probably would really love to see the return of mainline Final Fantasy games come to your platform - so it's worth throwing some money at. Then again - it could just as well be another spinoff

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

If im not mistaken, FF XV was built with the Luminous Engine.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Perhaps in a couple of years, whenever Nintendo introduces their Pro/X version of the Switch, called Nintendo Switch+ or something like that, bringing it to just below or at the same level as base Xbox One/PS4 graphics, Final Fantasy XV could be the exclusive game for it, kind of like how Xenoblade Chronicles was exclusive to New 3DS?

Final Fantasy XV is built in the Luminous Engine and is the only major production from SE still using that engine.  They switched to UE4 for Final Fantasy VII Remake, Kingdom Hearts 3, and Dragon Quest XI.  Also, Final Fantasy XV is a western targeted game.

It sounds like there is no Final Fantasy XV-2 coming, so in that case, a Switch version, even if it requires work makes more sense I think.

It's a way for them to milk further revenue off the FFXV world to an audience that hasn't gotten a chance to play the game yet.

I think Final Fantasy XV Switch Edition happens. If it was the mobile edition they would've just announced it at the same event.

You know, with that FF15 x Assassins Creed thing that just dropped, could we see some sort of Nintendo themed version show up as a 'buy it on the Switch' incentive a la the Samus Rocket League car?

Perhaps FF15 x Zelda?

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

I could absolutely see Nintendo themed stuff.
