Well what PS exclusive is bigger than the Halo franchise?

Halo is on a huge decline, you can only base it on what's bigger now. And as it stands Uncharted, is bigger at the moment.

Sonys studios are reared to create high profile new ips too. They are letting uncharted go on a high note. Last of us is taking over for uncharted and horizon is taking over for killzone. They haven't even revealed suckerpunches new ip. If that new ip is good Microsoft won't be able to take that  of news. Sony is just packing on the ips. Microsoft has had three gens and isn't even where Sony was in ip development and studio rearing by gen 2 for Sony. It's like they are slow or inept in some sort of way when it comes to games.

You actually denieing that Halo is a bigger franchise than PS franchises? Honestly think about it for a minute. No goal post moving. Halo earns a crap ton more than anything on PS.

No, I'm saying you're moving the goal post because it went from direct popularity(which is determined almost entirely by sales) to "but but ... x franchise made more money! and ha! Sony didn't!"

Considering Halo is a much more multiplayer centric series than Uncharted, and considering it heavily uses a microtransaction system(which Uncharted also uses ... but Uncharted isn't played for it's multiplayer as much as Halo) so it makes sense they'd make a lot of money off the game, more so than Uncharted. Does that lead to more popularity? Honestly ... not at all, in fact it barely correlates.

This whole "but but Halo is more popular than Sony franchises" thing was a good point back in the 360 era. Now? I don't think so. Halo 5 most likely sold between 5.5-6.5 mil so far. That's not impressive at all for a Halo game. Considering the digital attach rate for Horizon is insane, it will probably catch up with Halo 5 by the end of this year. And that's a new IP. Uncharted 4 undoubtedly outsold it. The Uncharted collection outsold Halo MCC, so did The Last of Us Remastered. Is Halo 5 still more popular than most sony franchises? Yeah. Is that impressive? No. If we were just to compare big PS4 exclusives to big Xbox One exclusives, the PS4 ones would sell better. When I see the Playstation market I see a consistent rise in popularity. Gorilla Games wasn't getting a huge increase in install base for their games, so they moved to an entirely new franchise. A new franchise that will probably sell 6 mil by the end of the year. Uncharted 4 outsold Halo 5 by a wide margin. It's honestly hard to compare the two when most of Sony's big games are still not out yet ... both Sony and Microsoft pretty much have two or three big triple A exclusives out.

Lol are you agreeing with me or ?

Whats your point exacty? Are you going by whats more popular or whats bigger? Halo is bigger, it didnt have to sell as much to make more money as a franchise. I think your misunderstanding what the term bigger is, instead your basing it off sales figures. Haha

At the end of the day Aaron Greenberg is right. The franchises that MS own are bigger. Seems to be that gamers in this thread think because Game A out sold Game B makes a franchise bigger. Ill let them do the research and surprise themselves. Enjoy.

Hint - A size of a franchise comes from its networth. Halo is a multi-billion dallor franchise worth more than 5b. That is huge and is worth more than what Minecraft was brought for.

As for the bald, i have no idea what your on about, i think you just agreed with me.

It does not make a franchise bigger because it sold more. Halo is still a bigger franchise which is what Greenberg is saying. Uncharted is not worth 5b and does not make as much money as Halo. Uncharted might be more popular with its last entry (Thanks to bundles and many other reasons) Halo is still a bigger Franchise.

If Mario Odyessy comes out and only sells 5m on Switch, does that make Uncharted bigger than Mario? As a franchise No.

This point is completely ridiculous and dumb. It's semantics, and it adds up to nothing. When PR spokesman say that company x has the biggest franchises, they are reffering to the most popular. Why would they be referring to the most profitable? Consumers don't care about profitability they care about popularity and quality. So when a company shipping a competitive product has a lineup of games, and they say they have the "biggest exclusives", they are not referring to profitibility because that's not an appeal to the consumer or the market they're addressing.

I can't believe you go on to say multiple times "hurr durr, you're using 'bigger' wrong!" when everyone in this thread has been using a definition different from your own. Do you honestly believe you're just smarter than everyone in this thread?

If you were talking about franchise MONEY, then you might be right. But honestly ... what does that bring to the discussion? What does talking about something completely different from what everyone else is talking about bring to the discussion? Nothing. It's just defending a companies claim for no reason with logic that is faulty.

Also I was quoting someone else in the bold ... don't know how that was lost on ya

Halo was also heavily bundled. My 360 came with a copy of Halo ODST and Forza Horision, that's just the way first party IP's do it.

Either way, I disagree with you.

I'll also be locking this thread as it serves nothing but to wind people up, as it has done to you.
