Xenoblade 2 is likely content complete. They have already done all the music. It wouldn't be finished if the game content wasn't finished or close to it. It's definitely working toward GM.

God this team is quick. Meanwhile, no news from Retro Studios.

Well they are working with tech they are very familiar with, the XCX engine.  Which is in turn built on the tech XC was.

But yeah, Retro is taking quite a while on...whatever it is they are doing.

Ugh, I am so sick of waiting on Retro. Nearly 4 years since they finished TF and nothing to show for themselves. Meanwhile, Monolith has made XB2 is less than 3 years, Splatoon 2 is out 2 years after the first game, Odyssey is out 4 years after 3D World but just 3 after Captain Toad which they made in the interim, etc.

Well, it's been rated by the classification board in Australia, (M 15+) and you'd assume the content would have to be complete for it to be assessed.

I've got to wonder what Retro is doing?  The only thing that comes to mind is they are working with new technology engine wise and had some false starts and/or have been aiding various studios quietly.

Well, they've helped put other studios before, most notably with Mario Kart 7. There's also the distinct possibility that whatever they're working on is not going smoothly.
