Yeah... I think Nintendo's team of lawyers will be more than able to win this like it was nothing.

There is almost no way Nintendo loses this lawsuit. Even if the joycons are designed similarly, they are solely for the Switch system. They are not taking ANY sales away from this company as their devices are for tablets. Just because the Nintendo Switch has better games, is better marketed, sells better, plays better, and has maybe swayed people to play it instead of mobile tablet games does not mean that you should sue them to try and keep your company afloat. I have literally never even heard of Gamevice, so maybe instead of blaming another company, they should work on getting their name out there and market instead. Nintendo is going to win this lawsuit without much of a hassle.

Not when it's a case that's purely created out of greed. I mean, Gamevice is going to need to take the stance that Nintendo stole their idea, and I would bet that Nintendo has never even heard of them before.
I assume you didn't see the big picture when making your post? Does this change your opinion?
These always go the same way:
1) Assert counterclaim.
2) Attempt to invalidate.
3) Buy or license.
I will say that the devices look pretty damn similar, but the claims may ultimately be irrelevant (I have not reviewed the patent.).

That's not how this works; if the scope of Gamevice's claims are broad enough, they encompass the Switch Joycon design. If Nintendo has a narrow claim for usage for a device for their system and the same for Gamevice, then there is no overlap of disclosure.

They do not have to do this: during Nintendo's patent search, they are responsible for finding and disclosing any prior art. If they "stole" it, the only difference would be during assessment of damages, as "willful infringement" garners treble damages (triple compensation).
This seems like yet another case of patents being ridiculous. This is a very simple idea. Perhaps there's something really groundbreaking in the technical details, but I really doubt it.
If Nintendo has the same legal team from the N64, DS, and Wii days, I predict no settlement. Nintendo will not only win against them, but counter-sue invalidating their patent and for the total price of legal expenses. If that's one thing Nintendo's strong with, it's the legal front. They're also experts at patent troll annihilation
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
"The company is looking to be compensated for damages and a ban on Switch sales." I mean, look man. You want money for the possibility that Nintendo did a similar product to yours, that's cool. But a ban on Switch sales? Like, do you really want to go on a legal battle vs Nintendo?
When was the last time Nintendo lost one of these?
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

As if this was true whatsoever. Nintendo is master innovator and there is no way tablets with controller peripherals existed before the Nintendo Switch.
