Forums - Gaming - Buying a new pc for mount and blade 2: bannerlord help needed.

I love the original  mount and blade being  almost  my most played game ever.

Now the  second  one comes out this or next year and its then time to buy a new pc( mine is 8 years old)

I have  noo idea  what  specs are needed  for the game  but  i do want it at max settings ( especially  huge amount  of troops)

Don't  have  and noo need for 4k screen btw.

Can anyone  help me with what type of pc  i should  need and how much money  i should  save up for it?

Thx a lot.

Do you have an upper limit on the money you are willing to spend?
If so what would that limit be.

What framerate are planning to run the game at: 30, 60, 120+

We live in the same city, I've built a ton of PC's. If you want I can come help you build it.

60fps is a must yea

The most important thing will be to have a fast CPU since the game will be at it's most critical point when there are hundreds of troops on the map at the same time (especially with mods which usually increase the number of available troops).

And the fastest CPU for gaming (for a reasonable amount of money) is an Intel Core i7 7700K for roughly 350 Euros (skip the K version if you aren't interested in overclocking the CPU and you might save 50-70 euros).

And to go with that, the GPU would be a GTX 1080 for about 600 Euros. An alternative might be the new AMD GPU coming out soon, Vega RX 64 for about the same price.

It's a bit too early to plan, even more build, a new PC for a game that still has no release date. Right now, the best options would be an Intel 7600/7700 CPU (K model if you're going to overclock) plus a GTX 1080/Vega64 GPU.

But by the time the game launches, Intel could have launched its new CPUs, and you could get the allegedly cheaper i3-8300, which could be as good as the 7600/7700, or the 8600/8700, that will be faster and with more cores. And Nvidia could also have launched its newer cards, meaning again more performance for yout money of the same results for less.

Just wait until you know when the game launches to start making plans.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Budget, always start off with the budget.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

If you are just going for 1080/1440p then it may be worth looking at the RX Vega 56, GTX 1070, or perhaps a GTX 1060.

I am not sure how CPU bound the game will be but I recommend getting a Ryzen chip.
Either the R5 1600 or the R7 1700.
The gaming performance is slightly less in some game compared to their Intel counterparts, but they offer greater overall power in multi-threaded applications.
In benchmarks the Ryzen chips do perform slightly behind, but remember real life situations are not benchmarks.
A real world system is not just running one game and nothing else, most people have many windows open in the background and this can decrease the overall effective performance of the Intel chips.

General use tends to favor the Ryzen chip's increased thread count, with Ryzen (1600 +) chips offering much better multitasking, and therefore tend to be more responsive in my experience.

I don't know how well Mound and Blade 2 will scale across multiple cores, so bare that in mind.

Intel are also going to announce their 8th gen chips in a few days, they are rumored (or confirmed) to bring 6 cores to the i5 and i7 lines and may offer competition to Ryzen's higher average core count.

Hard to say without a budget/limit.

I always wanted to try this game. I might pick up the 2nd one.

Is the first game demanding?

Depends on what you're really looking for and what companies you prefer!

For starters, go the Intel/NVIDIA route Then, reveal your budget. High-end? Mid? Lower?

Or the AMD/AMD route :)
