Common, where are the new alolan forms?
I expect to see the same number of new alolan forms as SM.

According to Joe Merrick, creator of Serebii, one of the biggest Pokémon fan news sites, this isn't really new of Game Freak. They did it with Black 2/White 2 for example. |
Yes, Game Freak is notorious for consistently doing stupid things.

But it's also likely to allow the anime to catch up. Remember the anime usually needs to be in tune with the games. The likely reason they extended one of the arcs in Diamond and Pearl was to give time for the devs for Platinum and Heart Gold/Soul Silver. What could've contributed to Pokémon Johto Journeys' numerous filler was, besides the unexpected continuation of the show due to its popularity, that Gold and Silver and Ruby and Sapphire had a 4 year gap between them.
What I don't like about this is the fact they spoiled the surprise for the upcoming episode. There was buildup for Ash's Rockruff to eventually evolve and that would've been so cool seeing the new form debut in the next episode.

That would be cool, but I doubt there will be one. In the gen 3 remakes, they replaced the Battle Frontier of Pokémon Emerald by 1 boring house.

This also ruined the game for me a bit. 90% of Alola's Pokemon were uncatchable unless you got lucky with that 1% run-in rate

Design seems lazy. Looks too much like a shiny of the midday form.
