Wouldn't be that weird if Nintendo wins. They won all years where they had 2 consoles selling. This year for the first time in years they have again 2 consoles that are selling.

Well, half won all gens. Don't forget that they both competed in the handheld market, which Nintendo won. It's like winning land battles, but losing all naval battles hehehe.

sony didn't compete in handhelds in PS1 or most of PS2 years.  Also not now

Historically Nintendo is strongest in America and Sony's weakest. Seriously like the N64 was neck in neck with PS1 in the beginning. The Gamecube had more than half of its sales from America. So I was not surprised about Nintendo winning most of them.

Whatever you do, don't look at Europe sales historically.

I find it weird that the 3DS's best year was FY3/2012 ( April 2011 to March 2012), I always thought its best year was when Pokemon X/Y released (would be FY3/2014).

FY3/2014 was the 3DS's best year worldwide, but in North America it was FY3/2012.
