Forums - Nintendo - Metroid: Samus Returns' Fusion Mode Is Amiibo Exclusive

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Paid DLC with Nintendo at least comes with shelf decoration. Let's not pretend that this isint paid dlc.

This is not paid DLC. In what world can I purchase a downloadable figurine that crosses over into the real world where I can touch and fondle it?

Fuck paid DLC. I was fine with unlocking stuff that can be unlocked with enough skill in the game, but this is bullshit.

Let's not even mention the fact that I can't do this without buying an NFC reader for my regular DS XL.

If they want to do DLC then, sure whatever. But locking content behind Amiibo's is stupid. It costs more and it runs out of stock.

This isn't just Day One DLC. It's Day One DLC that may be difficult to get hold of and costs more because you have to buy a bit of plastic that you might not want at all.

Not that a difficulty level should be Day One DLC anyway.

I only have one Amiibo and that's only because it came free with Twilight Princess. I'm not buying anymore. Guess I'm missing out on some content. This sucks.

It also comes "at least" with a much higher price and less availability.

THIS! They really need to sell the amiibo bonuses as DLC as well so when amiibo are sold out it can still be bought, preferabley a cheaper price too.

Another one of those moments of amiibo at their worst. It should have allowed for early unlock, rather than be a requirement.

Glad most people have finally come to their senses that this type of Amiibo functionality sucks and is anti consumer. I was very disturbed by how people would defend this before.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

Well, I don't buy Amiibo, so I guess that I'll be locked out of this.

I guess I'll look up the art galleries online then.

So... basically you can play the game again with a different costume , right ?
Not a big deal. Most people will get the amiibos for collecting anyway, not for just an extra costume.
