Music sales 11.5 billion
Movie  9.5 billion
Games 7 billion

ww i read the movie sales are a 40 billion dollar market, thats why Warner went BR and killed hddvd.  They hold the biggest pieace of the pie of that market and the saw the format war as a threat to it. 

Next time don't act a such a fanboy and try to get it through your head BR is as big a part of the PS3 to Sony as gaming is, iam sure that will be hard for many to come to terms with.

 You seem to miss entirely what he is saying.

He asks for the total royalties that stood to be made off Blu-Ray and what share of those royalties will go to Sony. You gave him the total revenue of the entire movie industry, which is probably (your source is very unclear) theatre sales, dvd sales, HD sales and legal downloads.

MS played well at the beginning versus Sony (and Sony played very bad)
but now Sony is awaking.

The big problem is in fact the Wii that dont allow MS to use their cheaper entry price as they wanted to use it.
Ninty is tarhetting casual as the Xbox360 arcade.
But Arcade Xbox360 <<<<<<< Wii and that is the BIG problem.

Since 1 year, Ninty is killing MS more than Sony.

1- They didn't make 5 billions off the PS2. You've seen this table before (numbers can be checked on their fiscal reports):

2- Maybe not directly comparable, I'm not saying Sony and Microsoft are in the exact same situation.

 


Very Interesting Numbers. My only question would be "Are the Sony quotes from SCE or the whole Sony group?" The MS numbers are from the Game division, and I think it would only be fair to compare that directly to SCE.

It's from the Sony Game division if I remember it correctly.

Why would you compare it to all of SCE?

If the PS3 could win by the evilness of their soldiers, Sony would have wrapped up this gen before the 360 launched.

 

That said, it's obvious that MS and the PS3 are competing against each other. If one or the other didn't exist, it is likely that the HD console that did exist would beat the Wii.

 

Fortunately for the gaming industry, that has not occoured, imo.
