So your suggesting that Konami actually paid Sony for the bundle? That seems... extremely backwords.

| NJ5 said: So they sacrificed their gaming dominance just for Blu-Ray... Now do you have any numbers of how much money they stand to make from Blu-Ray? Any data on how the profits are divided among the Blu-Ray association members? I've been looking for that data for a long time, yet no one could ever show me anything even remotely indicative of that. If you have that data, I'll be thankful and I'll admit you may be right about those claims. Otherwise, I'll keep being skeptical that that's the strategy as they planned it out.

Where are your numbers ? your first post does not have any all i see is your opinion backed by NO data or source.
And cut the crap that you searched for data for a long time, google is not that hard to use.
2006 US sales.
Music sales 11.5 billion
Movie 9.5 billion
Games 7 billion
(give or take the chart is not the most clear)
ww i read the movie sales are a 40 billion dollar market, thats why Warner went BR and killed hddvd. They hold the biggest pieace of the pie of that market and the saw the format war as a threat to it.
Next time don't act a such a fanboy and try to get it through your head BR is as big a part of the PS3 to Sony as gaming is, iam sure that will be hard for many to come to terms with.

You seem to miss entirely what he is saying.
He asks for the total royalties that stood to be made off Blu-Ray and what share of those royalties will go to Sony. You gave him the total revenue of the entire movie industry, which is probably (your source is very unclear) theatre sales, dvd sales, HD sales and legal downloads.

1- They didn't make 5 billions off the PS2. You've seen this table before (numbers can be checked on their fiscal reports):
2- Maybe not directly comparable, I'm not saying Sony and Microsoft are in the exact same situation.

Very Interesting Numbers. My only question would be "Are the Sony quotes from SCE or the whole Sony group?" The MS numbers are from the Game division, and I think it would only be fair to compare that directly to SCE.

Wow. What really gets me is how users I've never even seen are filing in here just to take swings at NJ5.
Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

NJ5 - don't sweat the haters. If anyone says anything less than calling the PS3 a deity, then they are spewing blasphemous remarks. LOL ... I agree with Claude. Fun and interesting read.
Too bad NJ5. Your idea for a thread was good. It seems like some of those kids are way too dumb to even understand what you wrote in the OP. Ignore them it is not worth it.

This forum is starting to get Sonyfied again. And thats the worst kind of -fied. |
LMAO!
If the PS3 could win by the evilness of their soldiers, Sony would have wrapped up this gen before the 360 launched.
That said, it's obvious that MS and the PS3 are competing against each other. If one or the other didn't exist, it is likely that the HD console that did exist would beat the Wii.
Fortunately for the gaming industry, that has not occoured, imo.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
and its good because we get to take advantage of their battle
