Pretty good scores, especially with several reviews highlighting that it is more of a half-step as opposed to a complete new game.

I wonder for how long will a Nintendo Metascore thread devolve into discussion about BotW and other Zelda Metas.

Yeah OoT was first and I get that so it hooked more people. But I had been spoiled by so many great games on Ps1 like Tekken 3, Resident Evil, Castlevainia SOTN, Xenogears and on my N64 Golden eye, Super mario 64, Wave race, Danjo-Kazooie so I was quite spoiled withg ood games already! I know they are all different from OoT but still out great games. And when OoT came out I was like wow this is an amazing game and loved it but then 2 years later when I got MM I felt like Jak that MM improved on OoT in every single way. SO for me when it got a lower score I was liek what! How! LOL but yes OoT was a great game back then I would never deny that.....ever.

Don't do it man lol! Hold out for Splatoon which is what this thread was about before we all started on Zelda lol!

Hey what can we say Zelda is just that amazing of a game. BUT I will not derail this thread any firther I apologize again! And I hope Splatoon 2 gets some great sales!

Thats point for me, I also played all those great games and like I wrote OoT literally blow my away despite great game that I already played on PS1.

OoT and MM are very different games, OoT is about sense of adventure and exploration, MM had much more mature and heavier theme and focus was on side quests, OoT felt like game for mass market same couldn't be said for MM. And when OoT was launched it had much bigger wow effect in any case than MM. I am not fan of MM (I can mentione at least 3 Zelda games outside OoT that are IMO better games), but I understand why MM is so much loved by some people.

Would have received those scores now had Splatoon 1 not been updated. 

It's a great model for us but for reviews it's holding it back. 

This clearly just seems to be a franchise the critics don't like anywhere near as much as the public. Both games have extremely low metas for their quality. Of course I understand the first game launched without a lot of features so that was understandable, but this time that's not the case. Though I supposed this time maybe it's more due to the game feeling like Splatoon 1.5 than Splatoon 2.

2 more days to go!

Just goes to show that Nintendo has their prioritys in check!
