But in the end revenue is what matters more than unit sales, especially since they make more money on Blu-rays than DVDs.  It is eventually going to take over, Blu-ray is already starting to see exclusive releases which will speed up the process.  This holiday season will show a huge switch to Blu-ray,  with player prices dropping rapidly, and media to follow.

Pretty normal sales this week for Blu-ray, no big blockbusters were released. 

Here are the numbers for week ending 08/09/09

Blu-ray pulling in a 9:91 ratio.  Also Blu-ray sales are up 207.7% YoY,  DVD went back to being down and was down 4.53% YoY and but total media was up 1.64% YoY

Top 20 Blu-rays.  Fast & Furious another good week, Watchman and Coraline also good weeks.

I a couple weeks behind but no big deal, it seems like I am the only one interested in these numbers anyway.  

Numbers for week ending 08/16/09

Blu-ray pulling in a respectable 11:89 ratio.  Blu-ray sales are up 230.8% YoY while DVD and total revenue are down.

Numbers for week ending 08/23/09

Blu-ray had a poor showing this week with a 8:92 ratio.  Blu-ray sales are up 143.6% YoY while DVD and total revenue are down.

wow i think its VERY cool that you are keeping this up. its ver interesting to know how good blu-rays are doing. keep it up and as always im reading and keeping an eye on it also.

Well thank you, its nice to know at least one other person is keeping an interest in it. 

Blu-rays are doing good but they should be better,  I was hoping for a steady stream of 15-18% numbers with the 25%+ numbers coming during the holiday season.   Especially with how cheap players are right now.

It was a news article on www.blu-ray.com, They were talking about a couple Disney movies which make sense since Disney is a board member of the BDA.   It was awhile back i will try and find the article.
