Forums - Sony - Gran Turismo Sport car models look so good they'll be used on PS5

Lazy bunch.

How do you improve the car models? Once it looks pretty close to the source in such a way it's basically a scale model in 3D, mm to pixel, what's to add? More polygons to the flat panel of the door?

All car racing games will be the same unless they use made up cars.

Hmm, pie.

Good ol PD, managing to be outdated even before the game releases. And sorry, it looks really bad... the cars in game (out of replays) look like hot wheels. Driveclub looks way better, and this talk about it being close to reality is just a shame... we will be laughing in some year because we are very very far from achieving photorealism.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Car models looks very good but compared to PC2 and FM7 I feel that it's lacking in content. I hope it gets lots of post game dlc to catch up.

Small things like how a particular car sounds driving on a random terrain, the light distance of the head lights for each car etc. Honestly from PS2 I felt the cars were already great looking and that car games should rather try different ways of gameplay, burnout/forza horizon for example.

This hubris is why the franchise has seen such a large drop in quality. GT used to be the genre defining game (on consoles of course, PC sims have always been in another league) in graphics, presentation, and gameplay. Now they waste years on graphics and have fallen way behind in terms of gameplay and presentation. I mean, wow, awesome, you have some amazing car models. But it took years too long to make, and you spent too little time on physics, AI, and sound. Just like with GT5. Just like with GT6. The game will sell millions and millions off of name alone, but their development philosophy really sucks.

They said that they had enough data to make auto models for PS5, not that they will use these same models. So probably they scaled back to bring these models to run on PS4. The fully featured model will come to PS5. Clickbait title.

The game looks amazing and people comparing it to Project Cars 2 forget that this is a PS4 game and that game is coming to PC and at its highest you'll obviously get more detailed models.

But GT Sport makes better use of HDR and wide colour and those are more noticeable when running on an HDR TV. The models are close enough to the naked eye, especially during gameplay where you wouldn't notice fine details.

There's always more polygons. And more moving parts for realistic crash physics.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Just like GT4, which car models looked so good they were used on GT5...

and GT6.

well yeah, just like all the PS2 cars that were still in GT5.
