Redout 2 announced for Switch, for those in search of an anti-grav racer fix

Ok, but I'm still craving a new F-Zero. Nintendo's out of excuses for not giving us a new one.

They never had good excuses in the first place.

Why weren't more people talking about yesterday's Indie World? I thought it was probably their best Indie World yet, and of the 18 games shown, 15 are ones I am interested in getting. a few of them are absolute must-haves (Sea of Stars I've had my eye on for a while and I LOVED The Messenger). So yeah, uh, why not more love for this?

I've been playing the Outer Worlds on Switch for the last 3 days. I have to say, this game is great so far. While the game can look a bit muddy at times and frame rate has its issues. The Switch port is not that bad imo, the patches they have done to the game have done wonders. The story is pretty engaging so far, the writing is great, nice characters. the first world map can be a bit dull and the combat doesn't seem to be anything to write home about, but they all get the job done. Looking forward to playing the game further.

Glad you're enjoying it. :) I played the Outer Worlds on Switch as well, and yeah it's nowhere near as bad a port as its made out to be.

I believe it's mostly been patched since launch. GREAT game, initially a bad port. Still, I'm also glad to see they're enjoying it!

I actually got it at launch haha, and yes the patches improved it a lot. The game itself is retroactively my 2019 GOTY for its enormous diversity of gameplay choice, great writing, and quirky style.

Someday I should replay Skyward Sword, I loved it a lot when I first played it (and didn't find Fi that annoying outside the batteries thing), but I wonder how I would feel about it right now, especially after having played BotW.

Finally got to play The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD. Yeah, so far Fi's just as annoying as everyone says she is. She's a broken record with no pause button. -_-

I coulda swore there was a way to shut her up or at least slow her down. One of the repeating things I heard about how it's so much better is that the motion controls and Fi are optional.

Guys, in the HD version Fi is only mandatory in cutscenes. In the original she would show up very often and tell you stuff, in the HD version the Sword starts blinking and you can press a button to get basically the same stuff that she said in the original. A few lines are cut completely from cutscenes that make them shorter.

Fi never really annoyed me that much personally, she was just kinda there. Unnecessary half the time, but not bad enough to substantially reduce my enjoyment.

Skyward Sword itself is awesome, I feel no need to get the Switch version as I already have in on Wii, but it's one of the top ten games on the console for me thanks to its amazing dungeons and fun motion-powered swordplay. It definitely has its flaws, but its core design and warm heart outshine them.
