I thought you could play it if you enter in that "local mode" site next to the dancing machine?

Does anyone know what single player upgrades and weapons do in context of multiplayer?
Like, do the ink upgrades matter? Are those weapons better than the store weapons?

Nothing besides weapons skins.

They make the singleplayer easier but aren't necessary. They are when upgraded.

Just finished my 50th battle. Still not level 10, so all turf war. I've gone 32 and 18 so far. Not bad considering I hadn't played Splatoon in a long while. And honestly, I did way better after the first 15 or 20 when I got a better weapon set and got back in the groove of things.

Honestly, the voice chat part of the app may be assbackwards but the Splatnet module is pretty slick. I like all the stats and info you can get and the special shop is handy too. I hope all Nintendo's major online games get modules like this.

Dammit I missed the pre-orders -_-
