Is it weird that as someone who exclusively used stick controls in Splatoon 1, actually find the motion controls WAY better with the pro?

Team Ice cream got this in the bag! The only times I've lost by a massive gap is against another ice cream!

Pocky Lover Boy!

For those that felt motion control lag in splatfest a streamer that got the game early said that it isnt in the final review copy of the game.

It is definitely weird that you preferred stick controls before, as motion controls are simply better. Now you're just fine.

I never said I preferred stick controls, I just couldn't stand moving around that clunky big controller that was the Wii U gamepad.

It was still the only way to play regardless of your control options, so I don't get your point (unless you only played Battle Dojo, which I'd rather think you didn't).

Hey at least I wasn't a charger main trying to use stick controls, now that would be quite something. *awkward giggle*

Aw man wish I didn't have to sleep, would have totally squaded with you guys. Anyway managed to hit 1850 in the EU Splatfest which I was happy about. I mean they didn't even have Sloshers in it so I didn't know what to use, just stuck with Roller most the time.

Damn, been busy the past few days. Glad to see people enjoyed the Splatfest though!

Thank goodness, not gonna have another 0-7 splatfest record! However the biggest takeaway from all this is the vastly improved netcode. In Splatoon 1, everything had like a .75 second delay before it actually happened, which is why you would get sniped behind walls, die to rollers even though you backed out of their ohko range, and people would swim through your ink you were trying to cut them off with. The prediction system was also extremely annoying when it came to ledges, as it would make it look like they fell off, but then teleport them back up because they actually didn't fall off.

Didn't see any of this in Splatoon 2, the game is overall much more precise n accurate now. Didn't have any slowdowns either, but the main culprits are bomb rush n rainmaker so this remains to be seen, but I'm confident it wont be an issue. If this is the result of the paid online, well I can't be too mad about it then. However, it certainly isn't perfect. During the American Splatfest, I was constantly being dropped from lobbys, and I don't mean from being timed out. It also took forever to find opponent's, so to finally get matched up only to dropped the second afterwards was very not cool. I'm sure they're aware of this and will improve it though.

I did notice a couple of laggy moments but for the most part it does seems improved, yes - except for the matchmaking, that was always hell to go through. Even on team battles we were constantly disconnecting, it got annoying fast.

But besides the better connection, is it really just me or does it feel like the hitboxes overall are much smaller this time around? I already felt this way on the first testfire, I thought maybe it was just me but I felt it again on the Splatfest now. It's like, it feels like you need to be a lot more precise with your shots to get a splat and it's not just because of the connection improvements. Maybe it's just because I got too used to the .96 Gal so going back to a Tentatek I feel the difference in accuracy? (I'm not even sure if .96 is more accurate, but I guess...)

Of course each players individual internet connection will always affect things no matter how good the netcode is. I did spot some teleporting players but that's clearly due to their internet and not Splatoon 2's online. It might also help that matchmaking is more region based now, as even during the Japanese Splatfest I played mostly with fellow westerners. Not sure if I like this though, as it may have been a reason for the really long wait times.

As for hitboxes, that's just you. :L
