The Direct was pretty stacked, it just wasn't really for me.

The only interesting bits to me were Hellblade and Link's Awakening. I was already sold on Yoshi and the rest wasn't my cup of tea.

The demo really sold me on Yoshi, the cutest and most charming little game ever lol

I am sooo tempted to play the demo but I'm holding off so I can experience it for the first time on day 1 haha

My opinion on some of your opinions on the Nintendo Direct:

You people are leading all of humanity straight to damnation!!

Straight to damnation? YOU'RE THE TERRORIST HERE!

I've just played the Yoshi demo through 3 times now.

This game is HYPE

I really don't get the Yoshi games. Tried the demo. Don't know why. Already knew it would be mediocre.

I feel the same way about Kirby games. They are just boring as shit.

I suppose i'm a little late on this but heres my impression of some of the games in the direct.

I like what i'm seeing from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The setting looks interesting, the characters look decent and the game looks like it'll have a lot of depth. I'm a little disappointed with character designs though, mostly the attire. They have a school uniform I guess, which makes their outfits pretty samey. I hope that it's just a class thing and that once they promote they get better designs but I won't hold my breath.

Really excited for Super Mario Maker 2. I'm already thinking up the type of levels I can create in it.

Dragon Quest XI has me interested. Turn based RPG with minigames and an (hopefully) good story? Count me in.

Yoshi's Crafted World might be the first Yoshi game I purchase since Yoshi's Story. It actually looks pretty good and the demo left me decently impressed.

I bought and am now playing Final Fantasy IX. It's the first time i'm playing a Final Fantasy game (excluding Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition) and i'm having fun with it. Nice that they released it after the direct.

Starfox: Battle for Atlus is a game i'll have to pick up soon. Seems like it's pretty cheap now and i've heard that it's the best Starfox game in years.

Astral Chain and Link's Awakening were pretty big announcements, both of which i'm gonna most likely get. Astral Chain looked super hype and i've never played Link's Awakening so i'm looking forward to both.

Their were some other stuff that I liked, such as Tetris 99, Daemon X Machina, and that racing game (I think it was Grid: Autosport?) but I don't have really have anything to say on those.

Overall it was a pretty good direct in my opinion and 2019 is looking stacked.

Do you only game on Nintendo consoles? Just curious how you haven't played much Final Fantasy, and your reaction to DQXI despite it already being out on PS4. If the Switch version is legit, which I'm sure it will be, I'll be picking that up as well. It's a shame we never got the 3DS version of DQXI here in the states, as it was the best selling version in Japan if I recall correctly, so I was a little disappointed that we only got to play it on PS4. It looks like the Switch version has features from both versions of the game, which sounds interesting to me.

I got my 3 & 5 year old a 2DS for Christmas and they have been playing Yoshi's Woolly World, they got so excited when I played the demo last night.

"DAD ITS YOSHI!!!! JUST LIKE OUR GAME!!!!"

So it looks like I HAVE to get this game now.

Indeed, the Yoshi's Crafted World demo is great for sure. Not day one (no game is day one for me because it costs 80 bucks). But a bit down the line it's a must buy for me now.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Guess I have the taste of a 5 year old

(joking, haha)

Yeah, this game will definitely hit it out of the ball park with kids!

For me, I've never played a Yoshi game before. Didn't really start "getting into" Nintendo's franchises and expanding my horizons until the Wii U came out. Yoshi's Woolly World came out so late in the system's life that at that point I had moved on. It looked great but, like Xenoblade Chronicles X, it was way too late into the systems life.

When this game was originally shown back at E3 2017 I kind of rolled my eyes, because it looked almost exactly like Woolly World. The whole "Kirby Yarn" "Yoshi Woolly" "Yoshi Cardboard" thing seemed like it was getting out of control. Now though, it seems like such a great concept that's fairly well thought-out. The game looks really great and the gameplay seems versatile (as in, lots of variety of activities to do). The game flow is also very good, which is surprising considering you are always stopping to aim eggs. The visuals are gorgeous, too.

Plus I always like the collecting aspects in these kind of games, especially if they're easy because it adds more spice to what you're doing. As long as it's not annoyingly implemented (Yooka-Laylee).
