We could say the reason for this is Nintendo being too careless, or hackers being too desperate, but maybe we can say it's unprecedented because of equally unprecedented hype?

Honestly? I'm down to get the HD version as well. I didn't like Skyward Sword at all, but if the game can be not broken anymore and the motion controls can actually WORK, then I think the game may be playable. I also think you should be able to shut Fi off, since she is the dumbest thing in the history of Zelda. Yes, even worse than The Adventure of Link. Even worse than Navi.
If you notice, the best selling and most loved Zelda to come out in the past 20 years (now that we're past OOT's original release by just over 20 years) and the second best Zelda ever according to critics and audiences is the one that doesn't hold your hand, doesn't give you a nagging helper, and lets you just explore at your own leisure. Breath of the Wild is amazing.

Yeah, that's great for Breath of the Wild. Skyward Sword isn't Breath of the Wild, nor should it try to be.
I do hope they cut back on the excessive throwaway cutscenes and Fi dialogue, they hampered the gameplay too often and were too handholdy. I'd still enjoy the game as much as I always have if they don't, but it'd be a big missed opportunity.

That's the thing, though. The Wii is the highest selling Nintendo Home Console and Skyward Sword is one of the lowest selling mainline Zelda games despite coming out at the end of the Wii's life cycle. It has excessive hand-holding and motion controls.
The switch releases with Zelda as a launch title but not a bundle. It has virtually no handholding, gives the player unprecedented freedom and is a huge open world; This becomes the best selling Zelda title of all time a year and a half after it's release while still selling well every week. (OOT technically sold more through rereleases but for single releases, BOTW is the highest selling.)
You're right, Skyward Sword is its own thing and should be judged on its own merits. It was. The general public mostly rejected it. I'm on board to give it another chance because 60% of my problems with that game was the bad controls and 30% of my problems were Fi's over-explanation. I actually LIKE the idea of a linear Zelda title (one of my favorites is Four Swords Adventures on gamecube), so I don't WANT to hate Skyward Sword, but the reality is that it was largely rejected and for good reason.
Hell, Wind Waker sold more than Skyward Sword despite being on what was Nintendo's lowest-selling home console (The WiiU has since bested it in the wrong way, but at the time that skyward Sword came out, Wii was the best selling and Gamecube was the lowest selling Nintendo Home Console).
