Yeah that's a much better word to describe it. It was 4 years between the first game and X here in PAL, and with all the delays and painfully long production cycles of the Wii U era, I didn't expect we'd be getting Monolith's next game until 2018 at the earliest.

Okay, I'm an hour into XBC2, and so far it is excellent. The music is a return to form, much more in line with the first game than X, as is to be expected given the original composers returned to score it IIRC. The British VA is also nice to have back, I just find it more charming. Characters seem likeable, and the battle system is just as good as it was in the first two games. Really enjoying it overall!

Okay just finished the first chapter and I know I've been quite critical of this game in the run up to release but holy fark, it is almost on a par with the original so far, much exceeding my expectations!

From the music to the story to the VA, it feels like (nearly) everything I loved from the first game and expected but didn't get from XCX.

Hoping everyone who bought Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has a good time with it! I'm still on the fence, XCX put me off a bit and while I liked it, I wasn't in love with the original game. I'd say I'll wait for a discount, but it's a 1st party Nintendo game so...

Yeah, the earliest chance I think you would have would be next black friday XD

 

I say that if you liked the XC, and want something to play, going by the reviews, just go for it.
