Which (already announced) game for 2026 are you most excited for on Switch 2? Specifically first party. I’m leaning everywhere ATM: MTFever looks like it’ll be a very fun time, Yoshi has my interest piqued, Fire Emblem would be my introduction to the franchise, and Splatoon Raiders is likely going to be a grand slam IMO.

I'm most looking forward to Splatoon Raiders, because it'll be fun seeing what a single player focused Splatoon game is gonna be like. At least, the trailer gave me the impression it was more focused on single player than the main Splatoon games.

I just thought of something. Was Splatoon Raiders originally going to be a DLC campaign like Octo Expansion in Splatoon 2 or Side Order in Splatoon 3, and Nintendo decided they'd rather it was a standalone game?

Damn, that's a huge amount of hours in those top 5! How many playthroughs of Zelda/Odyssey is that?

Skyrim is probably my most played game ever, that's probably about 420 hours total across multiple platforms. Haven't gotten above 200 hours with any other game afaik.

First party, Splatoon Raiders. I feel like a purely single player spinoff has a ton of potential.

Third party, RE Requiem.

Zelda BotW/TotK & Mario Odyssey have firmly occupied my top five favorite games of all time— Odyssey is my most played non-open world game, TotK is my most played game period. I did a 100% completion run of TotK w/o using a guide… all those hours are from 2023 alone.

As for BotW and Mario Odyssey? I haven’t touched BotW since January 2018… all of those hours come from 2017 alone. Mario Odyssey has at least five 100% completion playthroughs spanning 2017 through 2022. I’ve been avoiding the game in recent years being under the impression that the next 3D Mario would be coming out very soon (don’t want to spoil my appetite)… but it’s been 4 years of waiting and I’m getting impatient lol.

I feel Splatoon (at least in it's single player campaigns) has become Nintendo's successor to Jet Force Gemini, despite the vastly different settings and Splatoon being far less violent. The biggest thing they have in common is they're both third person shooters developed for Nintendo hardware.

Tomodachi, Lego Batman and Professor Layton are three I'm looking forward to.
