Zelda TotK was robbed of GotY in 2023. Objectively one of the greatest games ever created, blowing BotW out of the water. I never played BG3, but I do not know how any game could come close to matching TotK.

Same can be said for SMOdyssey not getting second place in 2017. That game should’ve been neck-and-neck with BotW. Another one of the greatest games ever made.

And while we’re at it: Astro’s Rescue Mission was robbed as well!

But if you never played bg3 how can you determine that? I mean totk was good but is it impossible that another game was better? I think not.

I think this is why goty is kind of silly. With a movie people could reasonably have seen all of the nominees. But with games its doubtful that most people have played all of the nominees all the way through.
