Alright people, the Switch is finally getting playable demo kiosks in retailers now! And the games you can demo, at least in the states, are Zelda Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8, Pokken Tournament DX...

And SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY!

Dead serious. Just checked out the demo at a nearby GameStop and yeah...Odyssey is looking SO good.

No shit! I have to check this, I'd go insane if in my nearest store there is an Odyssey demo.

GameStop and Best Buy have gotten them first.  Didn't see any at Target.  Doubt Walmart has one.

So the Buddydome in Mario + Rabbids can be played by yourself, which is great as it has a completely unique set missions, although you don't get anything for completeing them, but with how fun the game is I'm just glad I found a way to keep playing it! Guess it shoulda been obvious you can play on your own with this being a turned based game, all you have to do is switch controllers based on who's turn it is, but I only just now thought of this derp.

They really should of had ARMS in that line-up, even if they only wanted to have 1 fighting game, but ahwells. Cool that an unreleased game is there, especially when it's Mario Odyssey, but I already know I'll like the game so I'll save my first experience with it until it releases.

Okay, after a couple of days with the Switch, I'm starting to get a feel for it.

Pros:

- Split controller. Feels great to be able to hold my hands far apart.

- The hardware itself looks very sleek and classy, one of the best looking systems I've ever owned.

- Nice simple UI that gets the job done.

- Splatoon 2 is excellent. So far even better than the first one thanks to the broader range of weapons available in the campaign.

- While not a graphics powerhouse, it does produce noticeably nicer visuals than my Wii U.

- Returning to cartridges feels great. There's just something really cute and cool about modern games fitting on such a tiny little thing.

Cons:

- The face buttons are a bit too small, at least for my hands.

- The lack of an IR pointer feels like a real missed opportunity.

Overall, liking it a lot so far, though I am still going through that adjusting process where it doesn't quite feel comfortable and natural yet.

Bafflingly, it has an IR camera, but on the back of the red/right joycon instead of the front, so it's not used as a pointer.

Yeah, I noticed that, but I figured it would work itself out somehow ... like idk, maybe it goes through the controller? I was just hoping ...

Now no hope for Metroid Prime 4's quality

You kidding? If they use Splatoon-style gyro aiming, it'll be the best Metroid Prime by far.

Yeah I was being purposely overdramatic.

This does make me sad though because I only got to play Prime 1. How are they going to port the prime trilogy now?
