Still remember every weekend, my friends and me would all head over to one of our houses and play ffa 4-player battles, always chose the landmaster.
My favorite quote even when I was a small kid was "DO A BARREL ROLL"
"Do a Barrel Roll" is legendary. The game's like a treasure trove of quotes though. 20 years, wow, great game, Nintendo really nailed it with this one. The perfect game for it's time, and earned a spot in my hall of fame.
Watched a 100% playthrough about 2hours 30minuets.
Imo it hasnt aged well... I think the SNES version aged better.
This actually depresses me. After 20 years they have yet to move the series forward. The only thing that was good was Adventure but most people hated that. Every other game has felt like a slightly graphical upgrade and nothing else. This is what I want:
Full exploration mode on ALL maps (no chain rail).
Massive maps and level designs with tons of checkpoints (each world should take AT LEAST a couple hours to beat).
Ability to leave ship and do side quest exploration like Adventures. Star Wars is loved because of space fights yes, but only because of the moments that lead UP to the space fights on the GROUND with DIALOGUE that means something.
Actually enhanced graphics. Don't limit yourself to the art style from 20 years ago.
A new plot for crying out loud! Not just one slightly different. Maybe a new solar system?
These are just to name a few.

This makes 2017 a great year for StarFox 20th anniversary of the best game in the series and release of StarFox 2 !

Dammit, I loved this game. I think I must have beat it like 20 times. The hidden paths that would lead to alternate planets, bosses and ending, the multiplayer, everything was perfect. I don't think I've played a game like it since then.
I don't think they should take it off rails. They just need to make more levels, more alternative paths, have the mp, have a boss rush mode, maybe a high score mode and keep the amazing variety in that they had between planets.
I think this game is still to this day possibly my favourite of all times, it's just perfection from start to finish, I finish it at least once per season of the year, either on the N64 or the 3DS remake of it.
Lylat wars of course, because I'm from Ireland.
Best quote.... oooooohhhhhh tough one.
Probably Peppy's
Never give up, Trust your instincts.
Not only is it a fantastic quote but also if you see in the ending to the game that James Mc Cloud also uses the line to Fox considering he had been on the original Star Fox team along with Peppy it's cool to see a line which he has passed onto another member of your current team :) Game is so good... wanna go play it now again hah.
