When will Xbox One overtake N64?

3 months 7 6.48%

6 months 58 53.70%

1 Year 16 14.81%

2 Years 7 6.48%

3 Years 20 18.52%

Total:108

I'm going to keep track of all time sales comparison for hardware. I chose to do bar graph instead of line simply because trying to plug in all the numbers for each device across every quarter was insane lol.

I've seen other comparison threads between modern devices, but I'd like a place we can all come to celebrate milestones for ALL devices beating out past systems and we can be unified in that. We can also make predictions of how long it will take before a modern system outsells a past system.

All Totals are global and will be updated regularly

Here is a chart with current numbers and guide to what each letter codes represents: (Last updated 6/28/17)

Mega Drive sold well over 29M, tho.

Hmm, it must not be tracked on this website? I'll add it to the chart

Edit* Woops I didn't know the Genesis was also called that. Always been a Nintendo person so lol my ingorance was showing

Edit 2* As for the numbers, according to wiki it was around 34 million if you include variations made for differnet countries, but if I change that then I'll have to change other numbers that have issues. Better to just go with what vgchartz currently has to be fair.

The PlayStation also sold more like 102.49 million units, it's a bit overtracked here.

Will they ever update those numbers? Again it makes more sense just to be simple and go with vgchartz numbers than it does to start doing numbers from differnet places (which may have their own inaccuracies).

They haven't been updated for years, so my hunch says no.

PS4 will be up to #6 next year!

If only we had some kind of website to keep track of that.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Somewhere between 6months and 1year, depending on how close VGC tracking of it is.

How dare you not know what the Mega Drive was! :O

I've heard the name, just always assumed it was a different device, not a nick name lol

Yea? I'm confused by your point? I wanted a thread where we could discuss it and see graphs which will be updated frequently to see how newer systems pass older ones in sales.
