Galaxy 3

Odyssey is like 64/Sunshine on steroids...a  lot of steroids

we already got Sunshine 2, only its a third person online shooter and they called it Splatoon

as for Galaxy 3, they did say they would consider it for their next console (speaking in terms of when they still supported the Wii U) so a Super Mario Galaxy 3 for the Switch is still entirely possible

Gonna have to disagree with you there.  In terms of gameplay and aesthetic, it shares much more with SMB3 than it does either of the two (three, if you include Lost Levels) previous games. Hell, Super Mario World was called Super Mario Bros 4 in Japan on release.  To not consider it a sequel to SMB3 is revisionism at its finest.

Gimme GaLaxy 1 and 2 in HD.

Sunshine gets too much hate for no reason, its a good mario game.
However I just love the Galaxy games so much... so a new Galaxy game.

However I feel like visually the biggest "improvement" or shock factor would be with a new Sunshine 2.

I've always considered Sunshine and Mario 64 (and Galaxy) to be on about the same level.  I think there's a lot of rose coloured glasses at work with Mario 64 because it was the first 3D Mario and was probably the first Mario game a lot of people played.  Lots of nostalgia at work.  Hell, I even get nostalgic for it, and I played five 2D Mario games before it.  

But they're all excllent games.

neither I'm quite happy with what i see in Mario Odyssey. if anything I'd rather they just have a beach themed world and a galaxy themed world in the game
