Because the console had a lot of indie games in that short period of time, it has more than 20 actually (not 3-6)

Comparing the indie library of a 3 months old console with a 4 years old console is pretty laughable, just saying.

Can you please  name those 20 physical  games?

I know of.

Redout

Another  game like Redout.

Binding  of isaac

Cave story+

Has been heroes

Rime

And 2 upcoming

Sine mora ex and troll and i.

Also please  read carefully  why i replied again,  the guy said switch is " loaded"  and i just  said its not, the fact its 3 monrhs old means nothing.

Wiiu is 4? 5? Years  and well..nothing  compared  to ps4's.

Without  support  of lrg the physical  indie scene  will be small on that platform. ( even vita has more then 3ds)

I'm certain there will be an excuse on why PSVita had more indies than 3DS

Great news, maybe that means we'll get less indie junk on PS Plus.

One can hope for.

It was just good to talk about in 2013/2014. It is less relevant now. We have VR to talk about now, for example.

Cherry picking I see. Where is the full interview where he explains why they indies on stage to get the message across that they are supporting indies. Quotes like this are missed "Cherry picking I see. Where is the full interview where he explains why they indies on stage to get the message across that they are supporting indies. Quotes like this are missed "There was a time and a place, in the early stages of the life of PS4, to make statements. It was more about making a statement that we are serious about the indies, and that we are doing this and that with the indies."

Sony support indies in many other ways and they had a different focus at this years E3. Jim has said some stupid things but this is just taken out of context.

There is no cherry picking when the whole argument is on the OP. That's why I had to complete his excerpt, because you and him were taking it out of context.

During the reveal and first years of PS4, indies were important as a stop gap for the lack of exclusive AAA titles. Now, they take backseat for VR.

No the whole article has taken out of context what Jim said. It doesn't represent what he said from the interview. Sony still do support indies on the blog, YouTube and other gaming events. Because they had a different focus this E3, one event, people want to start acting like Sony do not support indies. Clickbait titles and cherry picked sentences are just designed to fuel a certain narrative that doesn't exist.

Click bait title.

If I was an indie I would find it relevent.

His statement basically says to all indies out there that they will be getting no advertising help from Sony.

Yet MS or Nintendo may showcase their indie games at E3 or in a direct, ect. Especially if said indie game becomes an exclusive.

So a massive bitch slap to the Indie scene after they basically carried the PS4 at launch when they had no games until Bloodborne.
Nice work Sony. Guess it doesn't matter because you have fans that will respect your decision just like they did with no BC and Cross Play.

So they had NO games until Bloodborne? Wow this is news to me that I did not know.......smh

So saying that at E3 to focus more on other things they will show less indies means they will be getting no help from Sony.....Let's just forget Gamescon, TGS, the Paris event etc. Yeah I see why so many people are saying this quote is getting taken out of context because it clearly is.....

Did you read the entire quote or just the title?

Of course I read it. There could have been a way to mention that there wasn't time to involve them in the show without saying they're not as relevant. That's still being disrespectful when you say they're considered a waste of time. A waste of time was going to the theaters to see Sony's presentation be recycled from last year's E3. More content can't hurt.

Gamescon, TGA, Paris, ect get like a fraction of a fraction of media coverage/following as E3. Be like comparing advertising spots for the Superbowl with a pre-season game on Football.

You are being blind if you don't think an Indie would greatly value getting spotlight at E3 during one of the main console makers big conference.

Think of this when your an Indie. You are making a game and you look at the conosles. Obvoiusly the PS4 has the largest userbase so that is appealing. But you are a small indie and can't afford advertising and thus how do you get those 60 million owners to know your game exists? out of those 60 million, only the online forum dwelers know of your game, so maybe half a million.

Now you look at Nintendo and they are trying to push their system and thus advertising indies to expand their library appeal. So even though they may only have 5 million console owners, all 5 million of those owners know of your upcoming game due to Nintendo pushing it.

Which is more appealing to a developer working on a game in his garage tyring to make a big break?

So you went from getting no advertising support from Sony to a fraction compared to at E3.....and where did they say that they would NOT be showing indies at E3 anymore in the article? Because maybe I missed it. Even if it is not at E3 Sony taking time out at any of their events to advertise an indie is big for the developer. Do you think an indie developer would turn that down? time at Gamescon, TGS, Paris etc? Also where did I say that an Indie would not greatly value spotlight at E3?

As for your Scenario I would go with the company that I would have the best shot at which in the case you gave would be Sony. 60 million potential customers, support from Sony with their Blogs, Youtube, gamining events outside of E3 and still a possibility of being shown at E3, a history of supporting indies coupled with word of mouth from 60 million potential customers.....it is a no brainer to go with Sony. That would be where the biggest shot would lie.....easily.
