If you're not that big on Nintendo and don't care for portability then I suggest going with PS4 as it is cheaper with more games. Of course the best option would be to get both in the end, one now then the other in a couple years.

I'm not that Ok with lack of 3rd party since I see a bunch of cool first party games but none of them are traditional fighters. Money is not an issue, I can save monthly to buy a 60$ game, even 2. |
I guess the real question at this point is does Nintendo games outweigh the 3rd party support (and not to mention the 1st/2nd party) of what the PS4 can offer
I think if the debate was purely economic I would have to say the PS4. But this does not appear to be the case for you. I do not feel like I am helping much lol

Is the Switch hard to find in Venezuela? If it isn't, and you aren't dying to play Breath of the Wild, then waiting wouldn't hurt.
I don't know the prices for stuff over there, but PS4 may be the smarter choice for now. In several months (so beginning of 2018), the Switch will finally be a console that's must have. It'll have legit sports games and 9 exclusives by the end of this year.
As for fighters, chances are they don't want Xenoverse 2 to be ignored. Wouldn't be surprised of Fighterz gets announced for Switch

I would have expected that as well. So far the 3rd party support for the Switch has not been that great. Hopefully it does pick up steam as the hardware is my favorite for an Nintendo console since the N64.
Software, Network, and features are still kind of lacking though. With all of this said it is still very early on for them and we do not know exactly where Nintendo is going to go from here. Things look pretty good for the Switch at the moment.

I agree with this.
Does Nintendo games excite you the most? Would the portability give you a lot of use over a PS4? Are you ok with the questionable 3rd party support for the Switch? If money is an issue games tend to get cheaper overtime on other platforms where Nintendo games tend to hold their value. Is that a potential issue for you? |
Good points, sound advice
Games. Which console has more games that interest you, and go for it.
Personally I think you should wait for the Switch to lower its price and increase its game library. But thats just me.
One thing that is not mentioned in your post is what platform/s do you have now?

If you can only afford one console and you are a "gamer" (as in you like a wide variety of games), I have to be honest and even as a Nintendo fan and say -- get a Playstation 4.
It's bound to have many games you'll like because there's simply so much developer support, it even has all the Japanese support with Dragon Quest and Monster Hunter now and things like Ni No Kuni 2, which who knows if they ever come out on Switch.
Switch is cool, but you really have to secure in the fact that it's mainly gonna be Nintendo IP, if you can't afford more than one platform and you really like to play a wide range of games .... go with the PS4. I would try to find a PS4 on a deal though or even used if possible.
It's the best handheld on the market, if you like handhelds then it's for you.
BTW if you're not a Nintendo fan and you don't have a ps4 then buy a ps4. It's cheaper plus more games.
Even if you like some Nintendo IP, if money is really tight for you and you know you can only have one system and you like to play *a lot* of different types of games -- go with the PS4, man.
And I say that again as a Nintendo fan.
I don't like misleading people or suggesting things to them that I know are not right for them when I know that person really needs to make the most of their gaming budget. It's a dick thing to do. When I worked retail at a game store years ago, even though I would speak well of Nintendo, I never tried to force people to buy Nintendo stuff when I knew they really would be better off with something else.
I hate people at stores like Gamestop that try to push their personal preference on the shopper and act like corporate shills rather than looking after the consumer and making sure they get the best product for their personal needs.
