Even if you like some Nintendo IP, if money is really tight for you and you know you can only have one system and you like to play *a lot* of different types of games -- go with the PS4, man.
And I say that again as a Nintendo fan.
I don't like misleading people or suggesting things to them that I know are not right for them when I know that person really needs to make the most of their gaming budget. It's a dick thing to do. When I worked retail at a game store years ago, even though I would speak well of Nintendo, I never tried to force people to buy Nintendo stuff when I knew they really would be better off with something else.
I hate people at stores like Gamestop that try to push their personal preference on the shopper and act like corporate shills rather than looking after the consumer and making sure they get the best product for their personal needs.
