""How do you view the relationship between Monster Hunter: World and the other Monster Hunter games? Is this a spinoff, or a main title?

Ryozo Tsujimoto: This is the next main Monster Hunter game. Our Osaka team is working on it. We've brought in some people who are more familiar with next-gen technology to come in and help us adapt it for the current generation of consoles. When you have a series that runs into the higher numbers, I think the numbers themselves start to become off-putting. New players might think, "Oh, I've missed four games already, I can't possibly join at this point." Just because we've taken the number off the title doesn't mean it's not a main Monster Hunter game. We just wanted to have "world" in the title because it speaks to the concept of the game in a variety of ways. This is the first simultaneous worldwide release for the game, and the servers are global this time.""

Pretty smart move by capcom. I have to agree with their line of thinking. More likely to get new players then if you named it MH5.

Meanwhile millions of gamers new to the series bought Final Fantasy 15. lol

So... that means the next mainline Monster Hunter game isn't coming to the Switch? That's surprising.

So there is not gonna be a Monster Hunter 5 like the VGC market analysts are saying?

Just for more clarification: Project name was Monster Hunter 5.

But anywayz, outside of Phantasy Star Online, I never get got into hunting games so Monster Hunter World didn't have much of impact for but if it avoids the typical CAPCOM games issues I will try this one out.

What millions are you talking about? FFXV sold even less than FFXIII.

Huh?

FF13 was released in 2010. In 2013 SE announced that it sold 6.6 million copies. FF15 was released last year and SE recently announced a shipped figure of 6 mill. FF155 will very quickly overtake 13 it hasn't already.

So you're saying VGC is wrong with their 7.5m? Because if that number is true, then I doubt FFXV will ever overtake it.

Hang on when did the previous hundred or so titles release?
