then the problem is just that you may need to make her happy when you buy it by gifting her

True I need to come home with the TV and some jewlery from James Avery. I don't know why but she loves that place.

Hope the jewel don't overcost the TV

Nah that's one of the great things. James Avery is all silver jewelry very cheap stuff (compared to real jewelry). I'll spend $80 tops.

Very nice. I hav ea 60" 1080p TV that I got like 3 years ago. Mentioned to my wife that I would need to be getting a 4k TV soon for my PS4 Pro and she just shook her head in shame. No idea what I'll do with the other 60". Probably just sell it for whatever the best offer is.

Well since you already have 60" and several PS4Pro titles won't really get to 4k, you can wait for it to be a little cheaper or buy a smaller 4k on the very cheap side to enjoy the extra res now and then sell both TVs and buy a competent big 4k when more feasible

I ran into this same problem.  Bought a 50 inch 1080 in 2009, then told the wife I needed a new one when we bought our house so I could leave that TV in the general living space and have one in my gaming space, so bought that in 2013.  Then last year had to explain that while I did just buy a new TV I now needed a 4k one for my games because of console and PC upgrades.  So a 4k bought in 2016.  At this point, I have more TVs than I have rooms to put them in.

Run similar, so I traded my 42" plasma to a 32" LCD that my wife uses on the kitchen and have a 21" loaned to my niece.

Cool, I'm upgrading to a 1080p 144hz monitor this week. If I ever need to I can always downsample my games.

Well if that is what you values in gaming hope it serves your needs and give you a blast

lol dude 32" TV in the kitchen. I don't even know how I could get that to work at my house. Maybe hang in in the dining area.

In a nutshell what is wrong with the industry.

60fps is more impactful than a few more pixels you can hardly notice. Do they care? Nope. They don't care about gameplay. They only care about making money. It they could sell you a rock and say its infinite K the one your eye can see, they would. The problem are all the people that don't care. The ones who just want to play a game and not worry wether it could be better. That passivenes is the worst as it makes the rest of us have to conform to mediocrity.

I undestand how you feel. I'm one of those people making the issue worse for you. You have to understand though it's very hard for me to see the difference between 30 FPS and 60 FPS. The only way for me to really tell is to spin my character in a circle as fast as I can and then the clear it gets then I know the FPS is getting better. With graphics though I can notice that almost all the time well depending on how big of a difference we're talking about.

Well it was that or keep it as secondary TV on the main living room for me to play while my kid watches his things.

Yes game creators, the ones that creates gameplay doesn't care about it, sure... and everyone that have a different taste is wrong.

And considering you like games from a company that put very little money and charge you the same price as others, having a very big margin and product saying that the problem are the others conforming to mediocrity is funny.

I still to this day can't differentiate between 60 fps and 30 fps. The only thing I can notice is if the framerate dips while I'm playing.

When you see something updated 30 times a second next to 60 times per second you really can tell the difference.

Picture this is a guys head moving in your online shooter, which would you rather be trying to aim at as he shuffles towards you? the one you can see all the time or the jerking one?

Are you sure this test is valid? I mean Uncharted never stutters like that and it's at 30 fps.

That's what motion blur and other tricks are for. You rarely have such a high contrast in Uncharted and the image is usually quite busy to notice. But if you look for it you can find the stutter. It's easier to notice for people who are used to higher fps. If you spend hundreds of hours playing games at 144Hz you will notice that stutter even on 60fps games. Though it's not as jarring as with 30fps.

Aside from the visual stuttering the bigger problem for me is the input lag that 30fps brings. That's where the argument "framerate is for gameplay" comes from.

I wanted to be like you and not notice it, sadly i am not :S

We framerate sensitive people suffer a lot especial on consoles and with multyplatform games ( witcher 3, bloodborne frame pacing , final fantasy i played it on the low mode cause of the frame pacing issues, etc) :(

Its so much better with pspro.

60 fps feels so much better, 30 fps playing a a online game competitive feels so bad that i prefer not to play those games. I am just glad the PC games i play my laptop can do them in 60 fps.

This is what I dont get, arent thouse games typically 60fps already? Destiny seems to be the only one to stray from this and its maybe cuz its an mmo(sort of). But games that are better at high frame rates already deliver 60fps, like your shooters, sports, fighting and sims. So what are people complaining about anyways?
