Keep bringing them on.
It's cool that they want to add something to the games they bring over but when it comes to games like Bayonetta a mere port with higher resolution and perhaps better textures would be enough. As much as I prefer "deluxe" versions over mere ports I do want Nintendo to bring over as many Wii U games (and, if possible, 3DS games) as possible and I don't want that kind of thinking to become an obstacle for porting more niche games.

Can't do that, or else Switch owners will get complacent with all the games they're getting. They need to beg for the next release of a game.

As a wii u owner Mario Odyssey I have to say is the first title I'm actually interested in on the Switch. I really need something like 4-6 games to justify buying a Switch and at the moment there hasn't been a lot of original games worth spending about £50 a pop on. I don't like all Nintendo games. I'm not bothered about Splatoon for example.
I'd like to think it will be worth getting a Switch around Christmas or the January sales but it still looks like its not worth getting a Switch until next year, maybe even waiting for a revised Switch console. You can pick up amazing ps4 and xbox one titles that have been out a while for as little as £5-10 and with the ps4 pro or xbox one x those same games will be at 4k, hdr etc. What Nintendo certainly doesn't offer is value but that doesn't matter if they are new fresh gameplay experiences but there just doesn't seem a lot of those.

And we don't want to piss off Wii U owners either. They paid to have those games for themselves and now that the Wii U is deadier the library should go down with it.

That too. We all know how much Nintendo hates their older consoles. That's why there is no BC.

I guess this rules out Bayonetta 2 for Switch since they don't have anything to add. Apart from maybe some costumes, but oh well.

Good Point.
I'm okay with remasters or remakes from games wich are two gens old, I'm just not interested in another Wii U Deluxe game.
But yeah if people want these games now cool for them but Nintendo won't see any money from me for these.

Its not so simple, some people loved some Wii U games but they didn't want to buy failed console without future just for few games. You can't really ignore fact that Wii U is failed console with very small instal base but with some great games, so of course that Nintendo will port and improve some of best Wii U games to new platform that will have much bigger base and that will actually offer full handheld play compared to Wii U.

Buy a Wii U, I'm allowed to be as salty as I want. Taking away from new games just to make stupid ports. |
You can't buy Wii U, Wii U is discounted and it can't be found in stores. And of course that people will buy new console with hole life instead to play better versions of Mario Kart or Zelda BotW than buying failed console.
You do realise that port is not equal new game!? Port can be done in 6 months with small team for small amount of money, new game in Nintendo case usually requires 2-3 years of development with incomparible bigger team and financial expenses. So its not like that we could have MK9 and Pokken Tournament 2 in 2017. instead MK8D and Pokken Tournament DX.

Nobody really buying console just for ports, but good ports of great games are great addition for any console, especially if they are from failed console with small instal base where only small number was able to play it compared to new console that will have much bigger instal base.
